17 dead, 5 missing during Ganesh visarjan across Maharashtra

Five people went missing after a boat capsized during Ganpati Visarjan in Bhopal.

Total 17 people have died during immersion by drowning during Ganesh visarjan (idol immersion) across Maharashtra. In different districts during the occasion, five people have also gone missing. A large number of people across the state attended Ganpati visarjan procession in their respective towns on Thursday amid tight security. Thursday marked the end of the 10-day long Ganesh Chaturthi festival, celebrated in Maharashtra with full fervor. Everywhere in Maharashtra, there was the joyful atmosphere of Ganesh Visarjan. But due to some drastic incident, this joyful day turned into the black phase for some people.

Cops all set for Ganesh Visarjan in Nagpur.

As now the 10 days are completed of Ganesh Utsav Festival, Now everywhere there is the environment of Ganesh Visarjan. NMC is already with its water bodies and artificial tanks all over the cities for the immersion of Bappa’s idols. Looking at the excitement in society Nagpur police is also getting ready to ensure the whole event goes peacefully and correctly without any conflicts and are taking total care of grand farewell to their loved Bappa. According to the traffic police department, vehicle traffic on roads needs to be managed firstly. Traffic towards Futala Lake, Gandhisagar Talao, Naik Talao, Sakardara Talao, Sonegao Lake, Koradi Lake, Mahadeo Ghat, Kamphtee, Binaki Mangalwari Talao, Kalmna Talao and Kalmna Khadan and also artificial tanks placed at number of places all across the city will either be diverted or regulated for free moment of devotees carrying idols of Bappa.

There will be huge traffic restriction from September 12 to September 15 from  8.00 am daily. Cops are leaving no stone unturned for peaceful visarjan while ensuring the security and safety of devotees. Whole Visarjan event is optimized by 97 CCTV cameras and 4 drone cameras monitoring each moment of traffic and devotees.

Household idols of Bappa are immersed on Anant Chathurthi and Sarvajanik big Idols are immersed on the second or third day of Anant Chathurthi. City police are also taking special care for traffic jams. Beside city police, Nagpur Municipal Cooperation and many NGO’s are advising people about the immersion of Ganesh Idol in Artificial Tank placed across the city.

Koradi Navaratri festival- Nagpur District

Guardian Minister Chandrasekhar Bawankule said, “Navaratri Festival will be organized at
Shree Mahalakshmi jagdamba Sansthan at Koradi and Various mechanisms should get
completed in the upcoming ten days to provide all necessary security and security services
for about 3 lakh devotees coming from all over central India” on Thursday. Guardian
Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule personally reviewed the various work-related to law
and order in the Navaratri Festival. He was also speaking about the occasion. Ashwin

Avinash Katade were also present. The Navratri festival will start on 29 September in
Koradi Devsthan. There will be 9 religious events held many of the devotees come to
attend this event.

The Koradi institute has taken measures for this. The number of devotees comes to visit taking this point in mind the vehicle parking facility should be done under the guidance of the police department while taking necessary measures of safety.
Considering the possibility of large no. of vehicle’s simultaneously, an adequate arrangement is required. A police station should be set up for the devotees in the area suggested District Collector Ashwin Mudgal. This time there will be three entrance gates for devotees. Also, for the purpose of law and order, CCTV cameras will be installed in all the area to cover a live watch of every specific area. Guides from the mahajenko all over the area, five high moss towers will be installed.

Twenty-four hours of health squads will be available in the area. Facilities like Ambulance, twenty-four-hour water facility for devotees. Cleaning staff for cleaning area, toilets and many other required facilities are going to be done.

Nagpur flower sales of 5 to 3 lakhs per day for Ganesh Festival

As the Ganesh Utsav festival is going to start from 2nd September 2019, the final
work on the public and domestic Ganesh idols is underway. Public Ganesh Utsav
team is equally busy. Pavilion agreement, security, facilities for visitors to the
festival, Roshni are preparing on all fronts to celebrate the festival. At the same
enthusiasm has spread in various market. Necklace traders and coconut traders in
the market are well prepared.

Coconut is more than expected in the market today. While traders in Netaji Market sitabuldi have already demanded flowers in advance. President of the Mahatma Phule Floral Manufacturers Association Jayant Rananvare at Netaji Flower Market said that in the Ganesh Utsav the flowers are sold, and Natural Flowers are mostly used for decoration in Western Maharashtra. Prices are totally raised in SangliSatara district the larget market in
Maharashtra of flowers. In Mumbai and Pune plastic flowers are totally banned. But in Nagpur, the sale of natural flowers has felled down and also the prices because there is mostly the use of Plastic Flowers. There is a little bit rise in prices of flower in Nagpur but as compared to Nagpur, Mumbai and Pune have a double increase in the price of Flowers. Nishigandha flowers are in High Demand in Gauri Puja. This day’s prices are expected to double to Rs. Currently, the florist market is ready and had grown. Ladies are mostly in the market to buy flowers from florist rather than making cotton flowers at home. Production is done by savings groups in Nagpur. Coconut wholesaler also said that this year the sale of wet and dry coconut has also raised from last year. The demand for coconuts from Shravan and Raksha Bandhan increases. By Diwali sale are on the rise.

DakshinMurti Ganeshotsav Mandal debuted in its 100th year.

This year, the Volunteers of Ganeshotsav Mandal has made its debut year in the southern
part of the Nagpur supporting the public Ganesh Festival celebrated by Lokmanya Tilak. The Padmanabh temple at Thiruvananthapuram will be replicated and various cultural and social activities have been organized on the occasion, informed Vivek Dhakras in a press
conference on Thursday. The late Balaji Shete started a public Ganeshotsav in the house of
his father in 1949. Within a few years, Ganeshotsav took on a larger form. This year is the
100th year of the Ganeshotsav celebrated on the Passage. Every year, the Board conducts
the social and national exchange of ideas. Mahamahopadhyay Balashistra Hardas, Pandit Tr.
frrom Madhokalkar to Comrade A. B. There have been interpretations of different thinkers
like Bardhan. This year, on Wednesday 7th September, Pt. Shaunak Abhishek, Pt. Triveni
Sangam of Anand Bhate, Manjusha Patil's Marathi Bhagat and Easy Music will be held at Chitnis Park in the Mahala at 7.30pm. On Monday, September 7th, Major (Retd) Gaurav Arya will have a lecture on ' Surgical Strike, Air Strike&#39. On Tuesday, September 7, Kumar Biswas will give a lecture on ' Secularism and Sectarianism&#39. Apart from this, various religious activities will take place during the festival. Due to the floods this year, the amount collected during the festival will be paid to the flood victims. Girish Puranik, Robin Jaipurkar, Sanjay Rao and others will be present on the occasion.

• Tree Ganesha
This idol of Lord Ganesha are made of neem seeds inserted in four sizes 9,12,
15 and 18 inches. During immersion, you need to put idol in the pot with soil and

Ganesha idols made using natural clay, paper mache, cow dung, and wood.
The idols are painted with natural pigments such as turmeric, spinach, red

• Paper Mache Ganesha
Idols of Lord Ganesha are made by using crushed papers and are also available
up to 15 inches. It gets dissolved easily in 30 minutes in water.

• Clay Ganesha
Idols are made from paper mache and clay Ganesha's. The idols are available
from 13 inches to two feet and are coloured in watercolours. The idols take 30
minutes to two hours to dissolve in water.

• Light Weight Paper Ganesha
Idol is made with paper and clay. Paper Ganesha is very strong there is wastage of paper after immersion paper can be dried out and can be sent for recycling. In order to protect water bodies of Nagpur most of the citizens are ready to
