Chanda man admitted negative coronavirus tests on GMCH

Nagpur: A 28-year-old man from Chandrapur who was admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital Isolation Ward (GMCH) on Sunday was checked for coronavirus and released from the hospital. GMCH’s isolation ward is now without a new patient.

“However, so far the individual is not willing to be accepted. He said he would stay at home ensuring no close contact with anyone else. His samples are to be obtained on Tuesday and sent for processing, “a senior GMCH official said.

The only laboratory test facility at Indira Gandhi Government Medical Hospital (IGGMCH), Nagpur, receives swab samples for testing from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and part of Madhya Pradesh. They have checked 40 samples till Monday.

“These include four of IGGMCH, five of GMCH, one of Amravati, Akola, two of Wardha, twenty of Chhattisgarh and seven of Madhya Pradesh. So far no positive sample has been tested, “said Dr Sagar Pande, the hospital’s assistant medical superintendent.

Cash Crunch Will Hamper City Metro’s Work

As we have seen the NMC hit hard with their city’s poor financial performance. Different seems to be the story of Maha Metro as well as its finances have been hindered with a major hampering of the civic body. This has led both the NMC and the NIT to provide the Maha Metro’s necessary flow of funds to run the show for various work that appears to have been working in the region. The total cost of the Metro function has cost around 8600 Crores, while the NIT and NMC have around 1200 Crores in share.

Nonetheless, with the two bodies ‘ continuing poor financial health this financial year, the Maha Metro seems to be running in a bad way. The two entities currently owe around 868 Crores, as they have only shared the whopping sum of around 228 Crores so far, according to the reports. Now both bodies have raised their hands for failing to pay the said sum thus affecting Maha Metro’s work in the city reported the company’s sources.

This is not the case with the two bodies in the region, but by not paying their share of money for the scheme, even the state and the central government flunked in their responsibilities. In the current financial year, the Maha government has yet to pay about 518 Crores, though similar is also the case with the Government. The base, however, has been prompt in paying the sum sought help from foreign agencies so far receiving no less than 1067 Crores.

NMC Chief Issues Action Against the Building Violations

It was more than two years before today’s Kamala Mill fire and the deaths of 14 people in the mishap are still remembered by all in the region. The NMC has now been involved against all the non-complaint premises in the area. So, about 22 rooftops restaurants in Nagpur have been deemed unsafe as fire for the city’s fire safety and maintenance department. The civic body has begun inspecting all commercial buildings in the city and has now begun to take action against those who remain uncomplaining.

According to the Fire and Safety Department’s guidelines, they requested the city’s commercial buildings to adhere to the standards set out in the Safety Measures Act 2006. This isn’t the first time restaurants have been aimed at the commercial building and the terrace. They too were done earlier and the notices were released but only a few adhered to it.

According to reports from the Maha Regional and Town Planning department, a number of the rooftop restaurants were run along with the commercial buildings over the terraces and hotels. Such regulations further audit the fire department to have all the city’s 22 rooftops to have the systems immediately face-the-music based. Some of the restaurants located alongside Sadar, Koradi Road and others in areas such as Amravati Road, Wardha Road, Sitabuldi and Manish Nagar have faced this problem.
