The Nagpur Municipal Corporation announced on Thursday that six zones in the city will provide water supply for 18 hours a day as opposed to one-and-a-half to two hours a day.

According to the details, it was an after-effect of timely intervention by civic chief Tukaram Mundhe, taking serious note of the complaints about the length of water supply in these areas. The six zones are Laxmi Nagar, Hanuman Nagar, Satranjipura, Ashi Nagar, Mangalwari, Nehru Nagar and others.

Residents of Takli Sim, Nalanda Nagar, Shri Nagar, Omkar Nagar, Vanjari Nagar (New), Bastarwadi, Boriyapura, Bezonbagh, Raj Nagar, Sakkardara Command areas will benefit from the decision to provide 18 hours/day water supply. The residents of Shri Nagar and Nalanda Nagar received one and a half hours of water supply per day and the residents of Bastarwadi received two hours of water supply per day. Now, they’ll get 8-10 hours of water supply a day.

Water Supply Department also plugged the leakage at Raj Bhavan in the command area of Sitabuldi according to the official source. The illegal pipeline was cut in the area of Tekdi Road and Manas Chowk which saved 2 million liters of water per day. The department also cut ties with 1,640 customers who defaulted on paying bills. As a result of this action against the defaulters, 5,179 customers have cleared the Rs 2.60 crore water dues.

The recovery of water charges in February 2019 was 105% of the mark. The recovery was 109% of the goal this year, in February 2020. The number of complaints has been reduced too. NMC’s water resources department had received an average of 3,444 complaints a month from April 2019 to January 2020.

The number fell to 3,250 in February 2020. The department has begun the’ water audit,’ finished by the end of this month. Efforts are being made to sever unauthorized water connections and curb leakages while providing 24 ranges of water supply.

नागपूर : मला कोरोना झालेले नाही, मी ठणठणीत आहे, असं स्पष्टीकरण नागपूरच्या जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांवर प्रेस कॉन्फरन्स घेत देण्याची वेळ आली आहे. कोरोनाचा वाढता प्रादुर्भाव पाहता सध्या प्रशासनाची तारांबळ उडाली आहे. जिल्हा प्रशासनाचे प्रमुख म्हणून नागपूरचे जिल्हाधिकारी रवींद्र ठाकरे दिवस रात्र आरोग्य यंत्रणेसोबत मिळून कोरोनाला थांबवण्यासाठी प्रयत्न करत असताना एका वेगळ्याच अडचणीत सापडले आहेत. कारण काही माध्यमांनी त्यांच्या संदर्भात भ्रामक बातमी दिली. यामुळं नागपूर जिल्हा प्रशासनात चांगलाच गोंधळ उडाला आहे.

‘नागपूरचे जिल्हाधिकारी रवींद्र ठाकरे खुद्द कोरोना बाधित झाले आहे. त्यांना कोरोनाची लागण झाली असून त्यांना रुग्णालयात दाखल केले आहे’, अशी खोटी बातमी काही माध्यमांवर दाखवण्यात आली होती. त्यामुळे आज सर्व धावपळीतून वेळ काढून जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांना ‘मला कोरोना झालेला नाही, मी ठणठणीत आहे’, असं सांगण्याची वेळ आली. अशी खोटी बातमी देऊन नागपुरात भीतीचे वातावरण पसरविणाऱ्या संबंधित माध्यमांच्या विरोधात पोलिसांकडे तक्रार दिली असून कठोर कारवाई केली जाईल अस ही जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांनी स्पष्ट केले आहे.

नागपूरचे जिल्हाधिकारी म्हणून जबाबदारी असलेले रवींद्र ठाकरे हे गेल्या वर्षी सप्टेंबरपासून त्याठिकाणी कार्यरत आहेत. रवींद्र ठाकरे यांना दीड वर्षापूर्वी भारतीय प्रशासन सेवेत पदोन्नती मिळाली होती. याआधी त्यांनी अतिरिक्त आयुक्त पदासाठी काम केले होते. पण गेल्याच वर्षी त्यांची पदोन्नती करत त्यांना जिल्हाधिकारी पदावर नियुक्ती देण्यात आली.

नागपुर : जहां एक ओर प्रशासन कोरोना से लड़ने के दावों की ज़िम्मेदारी ले रहा है। कोरोना की जंग लड़ने के लिए अपने आपको तैयार बता रहा है ।वहीं दूसरी ओर मेडिकल कॉलेज के डीन सजल मित्रा का कहना कुछ और ही है।

दरअसल मायो हॉस्पिटल में कोरोना पीड़ित मरीज का इलाज चल रहा है डॉक्टर्स उसके ट्रीटमेंट में पूरे समर्पण से लगे हुए है।किन्तु यदि बात डॉक्टर्स की सेफ्टी की जाए तो, उनकी सुरक्षा के पुख्ता इंतजाम नजर नहीं आ रहे हैं।

डॉक्टर्स के पास अभी तक पर्सनल प्रोटेक्शन किट नहीं आयी है।बिना किट के ही वो अपनी सेवाएं देने पर मजबूर है। ये बात खुद मेडिकल कॉलेज के डीन सजल मित्रा ने गुरूवार को हुई विभागीय कार्यालय की मीटिंग में बताई ।

अब ऐसे में कोरोना से लड़ने के प्रशासन के दावों को कितनी गंभीरता से लिया जाए ये सोचने की बात है।

दरअसल यहां बात हो रही है पिछले कई दिनों से मीडिया और देश विदेश में छाए कोरोना वायरस के खौफ की । वर्ल्ड हेल्थ ऑर्गनाइजेशन ने कोरोना वायरस को महामारी घोषित कर दिया है कई देशों में मरने वालों की संख्या हज़ारों तक पहुँच गयी है।

भारत में अब तक 73 कोरोना कैस दर्ज हुए है।बाकी चीन ,ईरान,साउथ कोरिया,इटली कुछ ऐसे देश हैं, जहां कोरोना का कहर सबसे ज्यादा बरस रहा है।कोरोना वायरस ने अब तक 114 देशों को अपना निशाना बना लिया है यहां तक के बड़े बड़े आर्थिक सशक्त देश भी कोरोना के चपेट में हैं।

कोरोना ने हालात कुछ ऐसे कर दिए हैं के भारत ने कुछ दिनों के लिए विदेशों से आ रहे सैलानियों पर रोक लगा दी है। ये रोक सुरक्षा कारणों के चलते लगाई गयी है।

अब खतरे के घंटी आईपीएल मैचों पर भी पड़ती दिख रही है। सिर्फ क्रिकेट ही नहीं बाकी खेलों पर भी कोरोना ने प्रभाव डाला है। कुछ दिनों पहले बांग्लादेश में एशिया 11 वर्सेज वर्ल्ड 11 मैच होने वाला था उसे टाला गया है ।

इसके अलावा न्यूयॉर्क सिटी हाफ मैराथन रद्द कर दिया गया है ।टॉर्च लाइटिंग फॉर द ओलंपिक ग्रीस भी खाली स्टेडियम में किया गया। इसके साथ ही एन बी ए अर्थात नेशनल बास्केटबॉल चैंपियनशिप मैच भी स्थगित कर दिया गया है।

ऐसे में कह पाना मुश्किल है के इस बार आईपीएल मैच होंगे भी या नहीं ।यदि होते भी है तो इसमें विदेशी खिलाड़ी भाग लेंगे इसपर लगातार संशय बना हुआ है। या आईपीएल मैच होते भी हैं तो कहीं मैच खाली स्टेडियम में ना करवाने पड़ें।खैर यह तो देखने वाली बात होगी के आगे आईपीएल को लेकर ऑर्गनाइजर्स का क्या फैसला होगा।

सध्या अनेक ठिकाणी भटकी कुत्री आणि त्यांचा त्रास हि मोठी समस्या बनली आहे . परिसरात नवीन , संशयित माणूस दिसला कि हि कुत्री त्याच्यावर धावून जातात . त्यामुळे चोऱ्यामाऱ्या यांपासून संरक्षण मिळते हि गोष्ट खरी असली तरी सामान्यांना याचा त्रास देखील होतो . कुत्रे गाडीच्या मागेही धावल्याने अपघाताच्या घटना बऱ्याच आहेत . त्यात गृहिणींना पडणारी समस्या म्हणजे हि भटकी कुत्री ओल्या कचऱ्याच्या वासाने कचरा उकरतात आणि त्यामुळे अजून दुर्गंधी पसरते . परिणामी कचरा घरात ठेवावा लागतो . अशी तक्रार काही गृहिणी करतात .

याता या समस्येवर हा तोडगा कोणी काढला आहे हे माहित नाही . परंतु अनेक वेळा आपण पाहतो कि , लाल रंगाचे पाणी करून ते प्लॅस्टिकच्या बाटलीमध्ये भरून जिथे कुत्री भटकू नयेत असे वाटते तेथे ठेवली जाते . पुणे , कोल्हापूर वैगरे भागात याचा अधिक उपयोग दिसून येतो . यावर नागरिकांशी चर्चा केली असता , काहींचे म्हणणे आहे कि या बाटल्यांचा काहीही उपयोग होत नाही . तर कुत्री या बाटल्याचं चाटून जातात . तर काहींना मात्र याचा उपयोग होतो असे वाटते . कुत्री या लाल रंगला घाबरून जवळ येणे बंद झाले आहे असे त्यांचे म्हणने आहे . पण असे का होते हे कोणालाही माहित नाही .

लाल रंगला खरेच कुत्री घाबरतात का ? हि अंधश्रद्धा आहे कि यामागे काही वैज्ञानिक कारण आहे हे जाणून घेण्यासाठी पशुवैद्यकीय अधिकारी डॉ. राजेंद्र धर्माधिकारी यांच्या चर्चा केली असता , या मागे कोणतेही शास्त्रीय कारण नसून लाल रंगला कुत्री घाबरतात हे सत्य नाही . परंतु भटक्या कुत्रांना लांब ठेवण्यासाठी या लाल पाण्याच्या बाटल्यांचा काही प्रमाणात उपयोग होतो आहे . असे त्यांनी सांगितले . अर्थातच हि केवळ एक अंधश्रद्धा आहे . आणि यास कोणतेही शास्त्रीय कारण नाही . परंतु तुम्हाला जर भटक्या कुत्र्यांचा त्रास होत असेंन तर लाल रंगाचे पाणी तयार करून बाटलीत भरा. आणि जिथे कुत्री सारखी येतात तिथे ठेवा . या उपाय म्हणजे गाजराची पुंगी वाजली तर वाजली , नाहीतर मोडून खाल्ली असा आहे .

Nagpur updates: What is the connection between an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer and art and painting? Also, if the officer is Krishnath S Patil (38), Senior Commercial Divisional Manager (SrDCM), with Central Railway, Nagpur. His painting and sculpting pastime, which breathed life into canvass and dead wood, has matured enough to hold a solo show on March 7.

Patil, who comes from the obscure Shelewadi village in Kolhapur district, heads the department of commerce, where the sole goal is to achieve targets through merchandise, ticket screening, and coaching. Patil has completed over 100 paintings and over 50 sculptures in wood, balancing his challenging job with his passion.

Speaking ahead of his two-day maiden exhibition of paintings and sculptures, which will be opened by DRM Somesh Kumar at the Civil Lines Central Museum, Patil said, “This hobby serves as a stress buster and enhances my creativity.

People take different ways to get rid of tension, I look to art and culture. “Patil took to painting and sculpting in 2013, when he was appointed as assistant operating manager (AOM) in Nagpur. His fellow railway officials, however, have no knowledge of his hidden talent.

His first painting on September 1, 2013, entitled’ Nativity,’ was a gift to Deepika, his doctor’s wife at the birth of their son Tej. “The symbolic image was of a woman holding in her hand a newborn baby,” Patil says.

“I started my journey as an artist from Nagpur and hence this exhibition was organized here. Second, until now, there had not been enough paintings and sculptures to showcase.”

“I use the spare time from my tight schedule to make art. For the last 1.5 years, I have been working on one of my paintings and it’s still unfinished, “he says.

Patil’s paintings of acrylics speak for themselves. Every painting is unique, and it reflects an abstract thought. Asked about a woman looking out of the window, Patil explains, “I wanted to show the limited knowledge that humans get from the windows of senses and vision.” “For me, both sculpture and painting are two sides of the same coin, because both require imagination and thought,” Patil explains.

Many of Patil’s wooden sculptures represent spiritual art, besides nature and birds. Bramha, creator of the universe as represented in Hindu cosmology, is one of the pieces in creation.
Patil says, “Work is my priority and then art comes.” Central Railway earned non-fare revenue from Rs2.85 crore in the last year after joining as SrDCM at Nagpur. On the higher side, too, is income from other outlets.

Patil is as enthusiastic about his art and he looks out for pieces of wood wherever he goes and what could be made from it. His inspirations are great abstract late painter Vasudeo Gaitonde, and professional timber and bamboo art designer Manohar Sapre.

“When I’m out on tour collecting some pieces of wood, my staff is always confused and asks me why I collect deadwood. But only an artist would realize how precious the wood is, “he said. Patil has a social mission in his art too. He adds, “I want to sell my paintings and use the money for charity.”

Nagpur: Tree fellers roam in town, particularly West Nagpur, which is greener than other areas, asking gullible citizens for trimming and cutting jobs. They shaking off rules and administrative questions and persuading owners to take off a few branches and leaves here and there.

People who fall into their pit may end up being severely punished by the civic body that has hired tree cutters who work with full permission.

A group of citizens at New Somwaripeth at Manewada Road have been chopping down an age-old almond tree through such fellers recently. The tree was planted on the road almost 25 years ago and felled without the required permission of the garden department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation.

When Anshu Saxena, an environmentally conscious local, attempted to stop the illegal felling, few residents and laborers started to harass and threaten her. “I tried to get in touch with the police but in vain. This group of residents cut down the tree absolutely because they were disturbed by the leaf litter. How that can be a reason to destroy our green cover, “Saxena said.

According to NMC’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) published in April last year, people can not seek permission to fall trees citing trivial reasons such as “leaf litter disturbed” or “improving the visibility of a hoarding or shop advertising.”

Saxena further told that the tree fellers, who regularly visit their residential area, promote the work. “They provide tree trimming or felling service. The residents now intend to cut off fully grown Neem trees, “Saxena added.

A team of officials from the garden department of NMC had done a spot panchnama upon her complaint. “We sent notices to the citizens who ordered tree felling. Appropriate measures will be taken based on their reaction, “officials said.

About tree fellers who frequent multiple residential areas for the last few months. They provide tree felling services at affordable rates, bringing axe and other materials. This activity leads to a substantial loss in the already dwindling green cover of the area.

NMC garden superintendent Amol Chorpagar said those tree fellers are located prominently in West Nagpur areas. “We have identified these groups and soon will undertake acts such as filing FIR or externalizing them. The problem is going to be raised with the town manager, “he said.

Officials have appealed to the public not to use feller facilities because they are unlawfully cutting trees. “They don’t have the permission from NMC,” Chorpagar said.
