Remember whoever drives slower than you is not an idiot.Nagpurians be alert while driving!

How safe is traffic throughout the Nagpur city? Every day, the town witnesses major accidents. Behind such a depressing fact, young people are responsible for a large number of road accident casualties. Figures also highlight a lack of sense of traffic of many Nagpurians. It is worrying that traffic breaches are on the surge. This is the sign of poor execution of rules of the road and a complete lack of discipline amongst urban road users. It is a trend that many Indians adopt, we believe in chucking shorter distance safety belts and helmets and stating, “Itna To Chalta Hai” One of our specialties is driving in the wrong ways. So, if you’re one of those too, this ministry’s recent evidence will cause you to reconsider your sloppy behaviors.

Accidents by road in India-2017. According to a survey, in 2017, more than 70 percent of fatal road crashes affected people in the 18-45 age group. The report by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that as many as 1,47 lakh people died on Indian roads in 4,64 lakh accidents recorded during 2017.

We all know that even after frequent challans and alerts, several people riding two-wheelers don’t wear helmets. Mobile devices are the most cherished friend that we have in this century. Yet, just as these apps keep us connected, when driving they often serve as the biggest diversion. Technology has definitely made things easier for us, but it is also our duty not to engage on mobile’s while driving.

It has been observed that today’s youth listen to music while they drive and wear headphones which sometimes leads to accidents. Lanes split the traffic by speed variance making it easier to keep a steady flow on the paths. Not concerning the lane discipline, you and your fellow drivers on the road make driving extremely dangerous for both.

State Government, is seeking to warn drivers about the negative effects of driving under alcohol or drug influence. Driving under such a state of mind increases the risk of an accident with ten folds making it one of the most deadly practices on the roads.

It’s the most frequent misuse of on-road features by drivers. The high beam is intended to give greater visibility while driving during the night. Try to ensure you only use high beams on one way or alert your fellow drivers at night by dipper.

It is one of the leading causes of on-road disorder. Not observing the stoplight makes it difficult for officials to improve traffic flow, and you become vulnerable to a deadly crash.
These were just a few stuff drivers on roads are doing poorly. The safest bet for staying safe when driving is to follow the good works and make travel to our roads convenient.

The government starts the 5 centers of Shiv Bhojan in the city | Nagpur updates

Nagpur updates:-The state government has introduced five Shiv Bhojan centers to provide Rs10 lunch per plate for the poor. Three of the five Shiv Bhojan centers in the vicinity of government-run hospitals have been opened to provide nominally delicious lunches for families of patients.

District Food and Civil Supply Officer Bhaskar Tayade told that the Shiv Bhojan centers were opened at Daga Hospital, Matru Sewa Sangh’s Maternity Home in Central Nagpur, RST Cancer Hospital in Tukadoji Putla Square, MSRTC Bus in Ganeshpeth and APMC Market in Kalamna.

“Four were opened on 26 January and the remaining one on 30 January. Lunch will take place between 12:00 and 14:00 at the rate of Rs10 per plate agreed by the Government. The self-help group and the organizations operating the Shiv Bhojan centers will recover Rs10 from the beneficiary. The government will give Rs40 per plate on its hand, as total expenditure on one plate is Rs50, “he said.

The District Food and Civil Supply Department under the Collector’s Office is the nodal agency for the scheme. As per the Government Directive, the SHG / agency in charge of the Shiv Bhojan center will have to provide two chapatis, a vegetable curry, dal, and rice. The menu would change on a daily basis and be dictated by the government.

The center will operate on an app developed by the government. The SHG / agency will receive instructions on the device’s daily menu. For three months, the government has set up five centers on a pilot basis. Considering the experience of the pilot project, the government is likely to increase the timing of the centers as well as the number of Shiv Bhojan centers in the city.

Shiv Sena MP from Ramtek Krupal Tumane opened the center at the Matru Sewa Sangh Hospital. He praised the scheme launched by CM Uddhav Thackeray. He also made some suggestions for further development at the centre.

NCP City President Anil Ahirkar dedicated the Shiv Bhojan center to the public at the Daga Hospital. He, along with a bunch of friends, lauded the government’s noble gesture. Yuva Zep Pratishtan, led by Mayor Sandip Joshi, initiated the Deendayal Lunch Box schemes at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and two more locations where families of patients have also had lunch at Rs10 since 2017.

Industries needs sops to rekindle the economy | Nagpur updates

Nagpur updates:-Regional businesses want a range of sops to expand at a good rate and help to stimulate the economy. Local industry leaders are pinning a lot of hope on the 2020-21 Union budget.

Nitin Lonkar, President of the Butibori Manufacturers Association (BMA), said that more funds should be made available to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). “The banks do not entertain small companies. The goal of lending to this sector should be set. In addition, the interest rate for the sector should be that, “he added.

According to Lonkar, the ease of doing business for the sector needs to be improved and the reach of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal needs to be expanded so that small and medium-sized enterprise can get a forum to market their products.

Chandrashekhar Shegaonkar, President of the Hingna MIDC Industries Association (MIA), said that the tax rate on goods and services (GST) should be reduced and the exemption for personal income tax (IT) should be increased to Rs5 lakh.

“Agriculture should have the status of an industry. Small farmers are often unable to maintain their lands, so if industrialists are permitted to pursue corporate farming, they can buy their land and farm profitably, “Shegaonkar added.

Suresh Rathi, president of the Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA), said he didn’t expect much from the budget because the government didn’t have enough money after the downturn in the economy. “Moreover, if the government invests Rs100 lakh crore in infrastructure, it will boost the economy. Personal IT needs to be reduced so that people have money in their hands. Exports should be supported, “Rathi said.

“Corporate dividend tax has to go if you want people to invest. The ease of doing business for businesses should be real and tangible for the grassroots, “he added.
Madhusudan Rungta, president of the Chandrapur MIDC Industries Association, said that the IT exemption should be extended to Rs10 Lakh. “Banks should make discounts for small and medium-sized enterprises if their payment is delayed. Agro-industry subsidies should be given to 30% of transport subsidies so that units far from big cities have a level playing field, “he added.

Umesh Malu, president of the Akola Industries Association, said that all tax payments should be faceless, in line with IT, and that the interest rate for small and medium-sized enterprises should be between 2% and 3%. “Countries like South Korea can export a lot of goods because their industries get very cheap loans. They expect to receive payment three years later. We can’t do that, “he said.

Malu also said that there should be a comprehensive audit of all taxes and compulsory payments, such as the Provident Fund. “I should not have to go to the chartered accountant ten times a year for various compliances. They should only have to do it once for all divisions, “he said.

Need more funding for better quality & infra in the edu sector

Academicians hope that Budget 2020 will bring more money to the education sector to help improve not only quality but also infrastructure.

MLC from the teaching electoral district of Nago Ganar has been a strong proponent of increasing the budget allocation for education. “We need to spend at least 6 to 8% of GDP on education, without which the standard of the current set-up can not be maintained, forget to upgrade it,” Ganar said.

Madhusudhan Mude, president of the Headmasters Association, said, “What we need to concentrate on is school education because that is the basis for developing quality human capital. Funding is required for the implementation of technology in all schools. “Rajendra Dayma, president of the Independent English Schools Association, said,” Central government should ensure that adequate funding is available for all the schemes it floats. Money for schemes such as RTE etc. must be provided to beneficiaries both on time and at the amount it is supposed to be. “Mohd Shahid Sharif, an education activist, said that comprehensive funding for education is required. “We need to have a comprehensive plan right from early childhood to higher education. The other thing that happens is that you have a lot of funding going to higher education when schools are dying of money, “said Sharif.

Zafar Khan, founder-president of the School Headmasters Charitable Association, said, “At any cost, you can not neglect the upgrade of school education because we need funding to train teachers, develop their skills and implement technology in schools to bridge the urban-rural divide.” Higher education, too, is in desperate need of government support, say academics.

Baban Taywade, a senior academic and former member of the Nagpur University (NU) Senate, said, “Universities depend on quality faculty and infrastructure. And these can only happen if the government provides a steady stream of support. We need to open more government education institutions as private ones are extremely costly, “Taywade said.
Former NU Registrar and renowned academic Mahesh Yenkie says the faculty is the key. “The absence of a faculty is apparent in many colleges, and that’s where the problem begins. We need a professional staff at the helm that the government needs to support. If you have a top-class staff, quality research and development (R&D) would follow, “said Yenkie.

Sanjay Charalwar, former director of Mohota Science College and member of the UN Senate, said, “There is an urgent need for infrastructure funding. Once you develop word-class institutes and facilities, an ecosystem of excellence is developed. Additionally, the wages of all teachers should be equal and well paying. Funding for regular training is also required.

The Tipeshwar control is moving from Pench to Melghat | Nagpur updates

Nagpur updates:- In the first, Tipeshwar (149sqkm) and Painganga (425sqkm), wildlife sanctuaries in the Yavatmal district were placed under the administrative control of the Melghat Tiger Reserve (MTR), Amravati.

MS Reddy, additional Chief Forest Conservator (APCCF) & field director of MTR, was asked to take over charge of two sanctuaries with immediate effect. The GR, for this reason, was released on Friday.

Reddy, which already manages over 3,058sqkm of land, which includes 8 wildlife sanctuaries and 1 national park in 3 districts, will now have an additional 574sqkm of jurisdiction. The total area under his rule will be 3,633 km2. Nevertheless, the Isapur Wildlife Sanctuary (121sqkm), which is part of the Pusad Territorial District, has been abandoned.

The reasoning behind the move of the two sanctuaries to Melghat is that these protected areas (PAs) fall under the Amravati revenue division. Until now, the PAs were part of the Nagpur Revenue Division. The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Wildlife Officer, Pandharkawda, used to look after Tipeshwar and Painganga. Now he’s going to report to the Melghat field director.

The field under Melghat will now be similar to what APCCF (wildlife), East Nagpur, HS Hooda, is looking after. It will be like having two parallel APCCFs for wildlife in the Nagpur and Amravati revenue divisions.

Hooda, who has the Tadoba-Andhari, Navegaon-Nagzira, Bor, and Pench tiger reserves and the Umred-Karhandla sanctuary under his jurisdiction, will no longer be in charge of Melghat and the other sanctuaries he has used to manage.
As far as the new GR is concerned, Reddy must immediately report to the PCCF (wildlife) Nitin H Kakodkar, who will be his controlling officer.

Talking to TOI, Kakodkar said, “The new decision is part of the pending proposal sent to the government last year. All Tipeshwar and Painganga sanctuaries were put under the Amravati Revenue Division, which until now had been under the Nagpur Revenue Division. We will also soon hand over control of the Isapur Sanctuary to Melghat.” “The fresh change will help speed up the resettlement of villages in which the revenue department has an important role to play. Both the divisional commissioner and the field director, who will be based in Amravati, will work better, “Kakodkar said.

Till now Tipeshwar and Painganga, 180 km and 300 km respectively from Nagpur were under the control of the field director, Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR), Maharashtra. Earlier, there was also a proposal to add these sanctuaries to the Bor Tiger Reserve by placing them under the new field director, but the idea did not work well with senior officials.

The state move comes at a time when Minister of Forestry Sanjay Rathod, who is a three-time MLA from Digras in Yavatmal, wants to expedite the plan to designate the Tipeshwar Sanctuary as a tiger reserve by expanding it.

Melghat field director Reddy said, “Getting Tipeshwar’s tiger reserve status will be his priority. We will also introduce Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Jan Van’s scheme in the villages around Tipeshwar. I’m going to take care of these sanctuaries on Saturday. “On the tiger reserve plan, Reddy said,” If Navegaon-Nagzira and other sanctuaries attached to it can become a tiger reserve, why not Tipeshwar-Painganga? Melghat Expanding Higher Gugamal NP: 361.28 Melghat sanctuary: 788.75 Wan sanctuary: 211 Ambabarwa: 127.11 Narnala: 12.35 Katepurna: 73.69 Karanja Sohol: 18.32 Dnyanganga: 92.65 Lonar: 3.65 Tipeshwar: 149 Painganga: 425 (The above area in sq km does not include part of the buffer zone)

City expects the statehood of Vid or special projects | Nagpur updates

Nagpur updates:- With the BJP losing power in the state, several people, including public representatives, are anticipating the announcement of Vidarbha’s statehood with the city as their capital, or special projects for the city from the Union budget. The chances of budgetary arrangements for the implementation of pending projects, including Metro Rail Phase II, Nag-Pili Rivers Pollution Abatement Plan, etc., and the continuation of existing projects, including Swachh Bharat Mission, AMRUT, are high.

Congress City President and West Nagpur MLA Vikas Thakre said it is high time the BJP declared separate statehood to Vidarbha or special status to the city. “In the last six years, BJP in the center and state have done nothing much for the city and other parts of Vidarbha. The current MIDC clusters are on the verge of collapse. Mihan has been on hold for a long time. Most businesses are slipping into the category of the ill industries. The statehood of Vidarbha, or any special status of the city, will help to restore the lost glory of the city, “he said.

Mayor Sandip Joshi said the Modi government has approved a slew of mega-projects over the last five years, and the city will get more in the budget and in the coming years. “Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) hopes to continue funding for ongoing projects such as the water supply scheme for illegal design under AMRUT, Smart City Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, etc. City had a number of leading institutes under Modi’s administration, and more are planned, “he said.

Activist Prasant Pawar also expects the Vidarbha statehood to be declared. “We need a lot of improvements to hospitals, like GMCH. Special packages to boost orange cultivation should be announced.
