Enable rooms in Tadoba resorts to be allowed

In an effort to maintain Tadoba’s competitive edge in attracting more visitors, State Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadettiwar called on Monday to grant liquor licences for resorts in the Tiger Reserve.

“Tourists from all over the world are coming to Vidarbha for Tiger Tourism. While the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) is a popular tourist destination, tigers are also sighted in the nearby Pench Reserve, Bor, and Umred-Karhandla Tiger Sanctuaries.

Nevertheless, when it comes to facilities available to visitors, Tadoba lags behind in terms of the supply of liquor, “said Wadettiwar, who is also the guardian of Chandrapur. “The possibility of visitors opting for tiger sanctuaries other than those in Chandrapur can not be ruled out because of the ban on liquor in the district,” he said, expressing his determination to take up this matter with the state government.

The Minister also pointed out that although liquor is banned in the whole state of Gujarat, it is made available to tourists there under special provisions. Different relaxation can be provided to the Tadoba resorts to operate permit rooms, he said. Wadettiwar also formally announced the creation of a nine-member committee to examine the outcome of the liquor ban in Chandrapur.

The Committee shall be composed of SP, ZP Chairman, Superintendent of the Excise Department, Prohibition Experts and representatives of the Social Organization. The District Collector would have headed the panel.

The panel will analyze the facts on nine prohibition parameters and submit its report within a month, he said. “After receiving the report, I’m going to take up the issue in the state cabinet,” Wadettiwar said.

Wadettiwar also demanded a survey of the tree plantation carried out in the state last year, in which Sudhir Mungantiwar, then Minister of Forestry, claimed to have planted more than 33 crore groves.

The Minister said he wrote to the Minister of Forestry, Sanjay Rathod, last year seeking a survey of the plantation carried out by the Forest Department and other agencies. “If lapses are found, the investigation should be set up and the action should be taken against the guilty party,” Wadettiwar said. The 33 crore tree plantation campaign was a dream project by former Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.

“Recently, the Kamal Nath-led Congress Government in Madhya Pradesh carried out a similar survey and found that only 17 of the 7 crore plantations claimed by the BJP government had survived.

All I want to test is how many trees have actually been planted in Maharashtra, how many of them have survived, and what is the survival rate in the Mungantiwar campaign, “Wadettiwar said. He also argued that if the plantation drive turns out to be eyewash and major lapses come to the fore, then the investigation must be carried out.

Bright minds pitch ideas, give vision for the future

On Sunday night, Nagpur witnessed the grand finale of a nationally highly competitive start-up competition organized by the Vidarbha Industries Association and Lemon Ideas. The 5th edition of the Innopreneurs Startup Competition saw the country’s best enterprising minds come up with their ideas and speak about a vision for the future.

The chief guest of the case, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, said, “Our country needs more eco-friendly ideas, and it is a good thing that this is happening in India. The conversion of knowledge into capital and the conversion of wealth into good green ventures has come true in recent years.

“Since the last five years, Lemon Ideas, headed by Deepak Menaria, has been organizing a competition for young entrepreneurs and start-up companies to explain and present their ideas to the jury and investors, giving them a chance to bring their ideas to the public. The Sunday event was also attended by Dinah Grace Akello, Ambassador of Uganda.

In this year’s competition, more than 60 teams presented their ideas and projects, which included teams from foreign countries. Seven teams were selected for the final, out of which three teams won in two runner-ups and one winning set.

Most of the teams had eco-friendly ideas that would help to improve the climate. Gadkari thanked and praised all the teams for their efforts. He promised to help their projects in all possible ways.

He said, “We’re going to have to face a lot of challenges, but to improve society and the environment, we should keep thinking and making green projects like this.”
He also spoke about many of his eco-friendly initiatives that have been introduced across the world.

Of the seven finalist teams, The Last Ripple, Courier Wala, Vision Empower and Imature were given consolation prizes. Green Road and Re-Bell were the first and second runner-ups to win Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000 cash prizes, respectively. The winner of the contest was Cortex Technologies, which won the Rs1l Lakh cash prize.

Speaking with TOI, Cortex Technologies founder Siddhant Dangi, still a BITS Pilani student, said they were planning to integrate with hospitals across the country for their project. Their research designs are mind-controlled bionic arms and other body parts for the disabled or paralyzed.

Gadkari also displayed his passion and curiosity in new innovations as he unexpectedly ate the prototype of the OECO Initiatives. The commodity was a substitute for a plastic bottle of water in which the water can be stored and the container can also be consumed after the water has been drained. Rituraj Giri, ceo of OECO, won the award for the youngest entrepreneur.

Rikesh Gurung of Thimphu, Bhutan, 1st runner-up, proposed his innovative idea of a green road made up of plastic waste inspired by Indian science. This technique of using plastic waste as one of its components as a mixture of blacktop roads helps in waste management and safe roads, which will be in the best possible condition for almost 8 years.

Sensex Rebounds Over 300 Points From Day Low; FMCG, Auto Stocks Lead Gains

The markets were volatile this morning as market participants tried to make sense of the budgetary proposals and to digest the fine printing in the budget papers. In mid-morning, domestic stock markets recovered on the back of strength in selected FMCG and auto stocks. The markets were volatile this morning as market participants tried to make sense of the budgetary proposals and to absorb the fine printing in the budget documents.

The Sensex has already fluctuated in a wide range between a high 40,006 and a low 39,563. It may be recalled that the Sensex had fallen 987 points or 2.4% to 39,735 and the Nifty50 index had fell 2.6% to 11,643 to hit 3-month lows on Saturday, as the Finance Minister’s second budget had failed to enthuse the markets.

At 10.45 a.m., the Sensex had recovered more than 300 points from intraday lows and was 39.914, 179 points or 0.4% higher, and the Nifty was 11.721, 59 points or 0.5%  higher. The broader markets were also aligned with the benchmark indices, with the BSE Midcap index being 15292, 172 or 1.1% higher and the BSE Smallcap index being 14,407, 62 or 0.4% higher.

Among the individual stocks, Nestle India, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank, Maruti Suzuki, and Bajaj Auto have increased between 1.8% and 5% each to emerge as the main winners of BSE. IndusInd Bank and NTPC are the other major winners this morning. On the other hand, ITC extended its Saturday 7% fall to Rs 211 by another 3% after the government raised the excise duty on tobacco. L&T and Infosys also experienced a selling pressure on BSE, with losses of 0.7% to 4% each.

Market breadth slightly favored bears; out of 2006 stocks traded on BSE, 997 stocks declined compared to 893 advances.

“Patch the RTE mapping software | Nagpur updates

As the admission season for free seats under the 25% Right to Education (RTE) quota draws near, a city-based education activist called on the government to address the issue of residential address mapping first.

The map interface is integrated into the software and helps the applicant parents/guardians to mark their home on Google Maps, which are then considered for admission. This is important because, in the case of RTE admission, distance is a key criterion, as priority is given to the person who lives closest to the schools.

Education activist Shahid Sharif said, “Software needs a complete overhaul, as many people face problems while submitting the form. In the application form when the map interface is opened, the applicant must position the balloon at his residence after which the actual distance is measured automatically. “Sharif also protested to the education department last year but says nothing has yet been done. “If the program is faulty, how can it be used for admissions? Every year, I have parents complaining about this, but nothing happens, “said Sharif. The education department official, who did not wish to be identified, said that it could not be a software error.

“If there was a glitch, thousands of parents would have been affected. Nonetheless, considering that the number is so small, it is obvious that there is a manual error on the part of the applicants. When positioning the balloon, it is likely that the balloon will not drop to precisely the same position as it was intended to create a problem, “the official said.

Once the RTE lottery has been completed, the program assigns seats to students and parents must complete the admission formalities on the basis of that. Hardly a few schools check the actual location where the applicant is living, as it does not matter whether’ A’ or’ B’ is accepted.

No Hindutva compromise: Uddhav

Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena Chairman Uddhav Thackeray said he would always remain firm on the’ Hindutva’ philosophy and not compromise on that.”I am still firm on Hindutva, and I will always be. No compromise on that, “Thackeray said in an interview with Shiv Sena, Saamana’s mouthpiece.

Thackeray said, “He never ran away from obligations, and never did.” “So, I’m trying to do whatever is possible without harming anybody. If I choose to go to the Legislature through the Assembly, someone would have to resign and the by-elections would have to be held. So, the Legislative Council will be more convenient than I can go through it without hurting anyone or asking anyone to resign, “he said.

On BJP’s allegation of’ Hindutva,’ Thackeray said, “Have I been converted from my religion? Do they want to say that they have the final authority over Hindutva? It’s ridiculous to think that only their version is true, and everyone else is wrong.

Innovative India ,
