2 CNG Aapli busses caught fire in the Hingna depot, gutted.

Nagpur: Conversion of diesel-powered city busses to CNG came under a microscope after two busses parked in one of the four bus depots of Aapli Bus mysteriously caught fire early on Monday morning.
No casualties were confirmed, said NMC’s transport committee chairman Narendra alias Balya Borkar, adding that both busses were completely gutted.
According to Borkar, at approximately 12.30 a.m., more than 140 busses of the Orange City Street depot were parked in the Hingna depot when one of the CNG busses suddenly caught fire. “The unmanned bus has suddenly switched to another CNG bus parked nearby,” said a senior NMC Transport Department official.
The warning depot personnel, however, stopped the fire from spreading further and helped to save other busses. If the workers had not acted quickly, a major tragedy could have ended, as the depot is surrounded by residential areas, the official said. The official, however, ruled out any wrongdoing. He said that the preliminary analysis of the CCTV cameras mounted there did not show any activity near the busses when the fire erupted.
Such two busses were part of the NMC’s push to convert 237 regular diesel busses to the CNG mode of transport. The NMC had entrusted the task of converting diesel-powered busses to CNG for the Rawmatt Group. Although the company got a nod from the regional transport office to run CNG-converted regular busses on city roads, sources said the incident caused fear among passengers traveling on these busses.
Sources said that despite being mandatory, most Aapli busses lack fire extinguishers. Borkar reported that the depot operator had been told to seek damages from the insurance company.

Over 3k schools boycott RTE admissions on unpaid bills

Nagpur: Over 3,000 schools may boycott RTE admissions at the upcoming academic session, citing non-payment of free admission fees under the 25% quota.
Schools under the umbrella of the Independent English Schools Association (IESA) have reported that the Department of Education has declined to clear their bills citing’ frivolous motives.’
IESA President Rajendra Dayma said that they raised a number of objections but did not receive any response from the authorities. “It’s like talking to a wall. They state that our bills can not be processed because the student’s’ Aadhaar number’ is not listed. But it’s the education department that gives RTE entry, not us. If the student documents were all in order when the government chose him/her in the RTE lottery, how come that same student is ineligible for a fee refund?”Dayma said that.
The Association demanded that all such disqualified students be recalled by the Department of Education. “The student’s status is legal when the education department sends it to us, but it is illegal when we ask for a fee refund,” he said.
IESA claims to have some 3,700 schools under its banner. “Out of these, almost 15% got their bills in full. The RTE admission boycott will be in those schools for which the bills are pending, “Dayma said.
The second issue that IESA is raising in arms concerns the proposed change in intake capacity. Dayma said, “A change in the intake capacity has been proposed from the next academic session, which will adversely affect us. For example, if my school’s intake capacity was 100 in 2019, 25 seats (25 per cent) would be reserved for the RTE quota as per law. “But if only 50 of these are filled, then from the next academic session (2020-21) my intake capacity will be reduced to 25-50. All this because the education department states that the enrollment of the previous year will be considered for next year’s computation, “he said.
IESA claims that this will have a negative impact on their development in the long run. “What if I get 75 applicants for general admission next year? Since my total admission strength will be reduced to 50, it is detrimental to the growth of my school, “he added.

इस सुर भरी शाम की थीम ब्लैक एंड व्हाइट एरा के गीतों को बनाया गया था। इन खूबसूरत नगमों में कुछ गीत हिंदी तो कुछ मराठी पेश किए गए ।इन गीतों और 30 -35 वर्षों पुराने संगीत की पेशगी को कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित सभी श्रोताओं ने खूब सराहा।

कार्यक्रम में अपनी बेहतरीन एंकरिंग से विजय जाथे ने दर्शकों को बहुत लुभाया वहीं उमा रघुरामन ,हेमंत दार्वेकर , भाग्यश्री कुलकर्णी ,गोपाल नायर ,आशुतोष चाहन्डे ,राजू तांदले ,भाग्यश्री बद्विक ,नूपुर गोडबोले ,विलास दांडगे ,नंदू अंधारे जैसे गीतकारों ने अपनी सुरीली गायिकी से दर्शकों को बांधे रखा।गीत माला के कुछ गीत जैसे लेके पहला पहला प्यार उमा रघुरामन और हेमंत दार्वेकर ने ड्यूट गाया। वहीं लटपट लटपट गीत भाग्यश्री ने सजाया । साथ ही ,साथी हाथ बढ़ाना और प्रसिद्ध मराठी गीत देहाची तिजोरी सभी गीतकारों ने मिलकर गाया ।

कार्यक्रम पूरी तरह से आकर्षक और प्रोत्साहित करने वाला था जिसमें मंच को सजाया बाकि व्यवस्था किशोर आर्ट्स वीडियोग्राफी और फोटोग्राफी ,साउंड अभिषेक ,लाइट मितुन मित्रा और डेकोरेशन राजेश अमिन द्वारा अच्छी तरह से की गयी थी। म्यूजिक के साथी पवन मानवाटकर,प्रकाश चौहान ,प्रशांत नागमोंटे,

Regular loan repayments will receive ‘so much’ benefits from the government

“The government is planning to give more than 25,000 rupees to farmers for regular loan payments,” said Jayant Patil, water resources minister. A state-level Sharad Agro-Industrial Animal Festival was organized and Autumn Festival was held at Market Ground in Land.

Speaking on the occasion, Jayant Patil said, “While giving loan waiver of up to two lakhs, the government is also considering the priority of farmers who have loaned up to 20-20-20. Also, the government is considering paying more than Rs. 25,000 to the regular creditors.

वाहतूक बंद न करता करा ‘झिरो माईल’चा विकास

महाराष्ट्र मेट्रो रेल कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेडने झिरो माईल्स स्थळाचे विकास कामे करण्याकरिता झिरो माईल्स ते भारतीय विद्या भवन शाळेदरम्यान असलेल्या विद्यमान रस्त्याची जागा वगळून विकास कामे करावी, असा निर्णय हेरिटेज समितीच्या बैठकीत घेण्यात आला.

नागपूर महानगरपालिका मुख्यालयातील सहायक संचालक (नगररचना) यांच्या कक्षात शुक्रवारी (ता. ७) हेरिटेज समितीच्या बैठकीचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. बैठकीला हेरिटेज समितीचे सदस्य तथा निरीचे संचालक डॉ. तपन चक्रवर्ती, नगररचना सहायक संचालक प्रमोद गावंडे, सदस्य जया वाहने, राष्ट्रसंत तुकडोजी महाराज नागपूर विद्यापीठातील इतिहास विभागाच्या प्रपाठक डॉ. शुभा जोहरी, वास्तुविशारद अशोक मोखा, सहायक संचालक नगररचना विभाग नागपूर शाखेच्या सुप्रिया थूल, महामेट्रोचे एजीएम संदीप बापट, वाहतूक विभागाचे उपायुक्त यांचे प्रतिनिधी वाहतुक निरिक्षक जयेश भांडारकर उपस्थित होते.

महाराष्ट्र मेट्रो रेल कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेडतर्फे झिरो माईल्स मेट्रो स्टेशनला लागून असलेल्या झिरो माईल परिसरात १५१४१.४४४ चौ.मी. जमिनीवर हेरिटेज वॉक तयार करण्याचा प्रस्ताव होता. या हेरिटेज स्थळाच्या विकासाबाबत मुंबई उच्च न्यायालयाच्या नागपूर खंडपीठाने स्वत: जनहित याचिका दाखल करून घेतलेली आहे. या याचिकेच्या अनुषंगाने उच्च न्यायालयाने मेट्रो रेल कॉर्पोरेशन लि. ला झिरो माईल स्थळाच्या विकासाबाबत प्रेझेंटेशन तयार करून हेरिटेज संवर्धन समितीला सादर करावे व हेरिटेज संवर्धन समितीने या प्रकरणात निर्णय घेऊन त्याप्रमाणे उच्च न्यायालयात १३ नोव्हेंबर २०१९ रोजी प्रतिज्ञापत्र सादर करण्याचे आदेश दिले होते.

या आदेशानुसार महामेट्रोतर्फे ६ नोव्हेंबर २०१९ रोजी आयोजित बैठकीत हेरिटेज संवर्धन समितीसमोर सादरीकरण करण्यात आले. यात महामेट्रोने झिरो माईल स्थळालगतच्या दक्षिणेकडील भागातील झिरो माईल व गोवारी स्मारकामधील विद्यमान रस्त्याची जागा हेरिटेज वॉक या प्रस्तावित कामाचा अंतर्भाव केल्याचे समितीच्या निदर्शनास आले. त्यामुळे प्रस्तावित कामात रस्त्याची जागा अंतर्भूत न करता किंवा रस्त्याचे स्थलांतरण न करता विद्यमान रस्ता कायम ठेवून सुधारीत आराखडा सादर करण्याच निर्णय घेण्यात आला.

यानंतर महामेट्रोने २८ नोव्हेंबर २०१९ रोजी झालेल्या बैठकीत दोन प्रस्ताव सादर केले. पहिल्या प्रस्तावानुसार महाराष्ट्र मेट्रो रेल कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेडने झिरो माईल स्थळाचा विकास करण्याकरिता सादर केलेल्या नकाशात झिरो माईल्स ते भारतीय विद्या भवन शाळेदरम्यान असलेल्या विद्यमान रस्त्याची जागा प्रस्तावात अंतर्भूत करून व गोवारी शहीद स्मारकाला जोडून विकासकामे प्रस्तावित केली आहेत. तर दुसऱ्या प्रस्तावात झिरो माईल ते भारतीय विद्या भवन शाळेदरम्यान असलेल्या विद्यमान रस्त्याची जागा वगळून विकास कामे प्रस्तावित केलेली आहेत.

यावर वाहतूक पोलिस विभागाच्या उपायुक्तांनी पहिल्या प्रस्तावानुसार कार्य झाल्यास वाहतुकीची मोठी कोंडी होईल, वाहतूक विस्कळीत होईल त्यामुळे रस्ता वाहतुकीसाठी बंद करू नये, असे सुचविले होते. त्यामुळे सदर बैठकीत दुसऱ्या प्रस्तावानुसार कामास मंजुरी देण्याचा निर्णय सर्वानुमते घेण्यात आला होता. यानंतरही महामेट्रोचे संचालक (प्रकल्प) यांनी पहिल्या प्रस्तावानुसारच कामाला मंजुरी देण्याची विनंती केली.

त्याअनुषंगाने आज (ता. ७) झालेल्या बैठकीत वाहतूक पोलिस उपायुक्तांचे प्रतिनिधी यांनी झिरो माईल परिसरात येणारे मोर्चे, होणारे कार्यक्रम आणि त्यामुळे वळविण्यात येणाऱ्या वाहतुकीचा भार याविषयी मत मांडले. त्यामुळे कुठल्याही परिस्थितीत रस्ता बंद करणे, वाहतूक वळविणे हे योग्य होणार नसल्याचे मत मांडले. त्यामुळे हेरिटेज संवर्धन समितीने महामेट्रोच्या पहिल्या प्रस्तावाला नकार देऊन दुसऱ्या प्रस्तावानुसारच काम करण्याचा निर्णय घेतला.

Duronto will operate from Ajni for a further 3 months

Nagpur: In a move that would disturb passengers, the Nagpur division of Central Railway decided to extend the operation of 12289-90 Mumbai Duronto Express from Ajni Railway Station for the next three months from Sunday (February 9).
Due to the washable apron work on Platform No. 1 at the main station, the popular train, which used to run from Home Platform No. 8 on the Santra Market side, was temporarily operating from Ajni on 8 January.
On 6 February, the Central Railway completed the task of the washable apron in 26 days under the leadership of DRM Somesh Kumar, Chief Engineer (PCE) AK Agrawal, ADRM Jay Singh, Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination) Pawan Patil and Pankaj Dhaware.
Duronto was expected to start operating again from the home platform, but for the next 3 months, it will depart and end at Ajni Platform No. 2. Sources said that Duronto can operate from Ajni on a regular basis with apron work for Platform 2 in pipeline and straightening of Platform 1 planned.
The decision did not go well with the passengers. Bharatiya Yatri Kendra (BYK) General Secretary Basant Shukla said, “Ajni Station lacks waiting rooms, proper toilets, food stalls, a requisite ramp, lifts, climbers, security, passenger facilities and ample parking. Senior citizens will face a lot of problems. “Former Ajni corporator Tanveer Ahmed said:” While operating trains from Ajni are a good move to make it a full-length terminal, this is being done even as the station lacks basic facilities. The decision appears to have been taken for the convenience of the railroad, as the Duronto maintenance facility is based in Ajni. Now, the train has to shuttle from Platform 8 to Ajni. “Assistant Commercial Manager (ACM) & railway spokesperson SG Rao said,” The decision was taken to ease congestion at Nagpur Station. There are several other trains on the line at 8.40 pm when the train departs. In addition, demand for the conversion of Ajni into a terminus is long pending. Duronto operation will push Ajni’s case to make it a terminus. “Rao added,” RPF staff will be posted to solve the parking problem. Similarly, there is already a small ramp to the end of Nagpur. Lighting at the station has also been enhanced. Coolies will also be available at Ajni an hour before the departure of the train. “Madanal Jagyasa, a regular traveler, felt that the absence of a ramp at the end of Wardha would create inconvenience for front-side coach passengers. “There is also no battery-operated Ajni car facility,” he said.
Facelift to Platform 1 Washable apron work on Platform 1 and Platform 1 was approved in 2015. Apron’s work on Platform 1, where all trains run north, began on 11 January and was finished on 6 February in two phases. Previously, the track was laid on wooden sleepers, which had been eroded by water, and the track specifications had not been properly maintained and had thus become unsafe. Now cement concrete sleepers have been laid over 500 meters away, making train operations secure.
