Nagpur: Inconsistency is expected to continue in the weather conditions in the city. Though the weather in the city warmed up on Wednesday, with a small rise in mercury levels, it is forecast that the next three days will get colder.
According to the prediction of the Regional Meteorological Center (RMC), Nagpur, a drop of two to three degrees Celsius across Vidarbha in the next 72 hours is expected to occur at the minimum temperature. It also notes that dry weather prevails over the city and its surrounding areas.
On Wednesday Nagpur was the region’s coldest, with a minimum temperature of 12.6 degrees Celsius. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 30.5 degrees centigrade on the same day. At a maximum temperature of 32.9 degrees, Celsius Akola was the hottest in the world.
There is no rain warning this week for the area. Unlike January, surprise showers were being received in February too. RMC data shows that, due to the cyclonic circulation over Marathwada and surrounding areas, the city has received 8 mm of rain until now.
Officials said the discontinuity of wind movement in the area is carrying moisture and rain. “This is why they experienced heat, humidity as well as cold in December, January and February,” they said.

आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे सकाळीच पोहचले भांडेवाडीत
नागपूर महानगरपालिकेचे आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे हे बुधवारी (ता. १२) सकाळी ९ वाजताच भांडेवाडी डम्पिंग यार्डला पोहचले. तेथील कचऱ्यावर होणाऱ्या प्रक्रियेची माहिती घेतल्यानंतर आणि प्रत्यक्ष बघितल्यानंतर ओला आणि सुका कचरा एकत्रित बघून नाराजी व्यक्त केली आणि अधिकाऱ्यांची कानउघाडणी केली. त्यांच्या या अचानक दौऱ्याने अधिकाऱ्यांमध्ये धडकी भरली असून यापुढे ओला आणि सुका कचऱ्यावर स्वतंत्र वैज्ञानिक पद्धतीने प्रक्रिया न केल्यास कठोर कारवाई करण्याची तंबी दिली.
आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी आज सकाळीच भांडेवाडी डम्पिंग यार्ड गाठले. यावेळी त्यांच्यासोबत आरोग्य अधिकारी (स्वच्छता) डॉ. प्रदीप दासरवार, कार्यकारी अभियंता (जलप्रदाय) श्वेता बॅनर्जी, उपअभियंता राजेश दुफारे उपस्थित होते. आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी सर्वप्रथम कचरा वजन करण्याऱ्या पद्धतीची माहिती घेतली. यानंतर ते स्वत: कचऱ्याच्या ढिगाऱ्यावर चढले. नागपूरकरांकडून संकलित करण्यात येणाऱ्या कचऱ्याची माहिती घेतली. कचरा संकलन करणाऱ्या एजंसीकडून अजूनही ओला आणि सुका कचरा एकत्रितच संकलित करण्यात येत असल्याचे त्यांच्या निदर्शनास आले. तसाच एकत्रित स्वरूपातील कचरा भांडेवाडी डम्पिंग यार्डमध्ये टाकला जातो आहे. त्यातून प्लास्टिकसुद्धा वेगळे करण्यात येत नसल्याचे त्यांना दिसले. हंजरच्या कचरा कंपोस्टिंग प्रकल्पाचीही माहिती त्यांनी जाणून घेतली. या संपूर्ण प्रकारामुळे नाराज झालेल्या आयुक्तांनी यापुढे असले प्रकार खपवून घेणार नसल्याचे सांगत असे आढळल्यास यापुढे कडक कारवाई करण्यात येईल, असा इशाराही त्यांनी दिला.
आयुक्तांची कचऱ्याला प्राथमिकता
नागपूर शहरात सुमारे एक लाख नागरिक अस्थम्याने पीडित आहेत. भांडेवाडीतील कचऱ्यामुळे वायू प्रदूषण होत असल्याचे सांगत यापुढे वैज्ञानिक पद्धतीनेच कचऱ्यावर प्रक्रिया करण्यास प्राथमिकता द्यावी. लोकसहभाग आणि मनपाच्या प्रयत्नांनी हे शक्य असल्याचा विश्वासही त्यांनी व्यक्त केला. नागपूर शहरातील कचरा हा आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांच्यासाठी प्राथमिकता आहे. नागरिकांनी विलग स्वरूपात कचरा द्यावा, असे आवाहन त्यांनी काही दिवसांपूर्वीच केले होते. मात्र, तसे होत नसल्याचे लक्षात येताच त्यांनी, नागपूर शहरात कचरा संकलन करणाऱ्या कंपन्यांनी यापुढे नागरिकांकडून ओला आणि सुका कचरा विलग स्वरूपातच स्वीकारावा, अन्यथा दंड ठोठवा असे निर्देश त्यांनी यावेळी अधिकाऱ्यांना दिले. नागरिकांनी सुरुवातीपासूनच कचरा विलग स्वरूपात दिला असता तर अशी परिस्थिती निर्माण झाली नसती. सुमारे अडीच तास आयुक्त तुकाराम मुंढे यांनी या भागाची पाहणी केली.

Good News!Now state govt employees to have 5-day working week
Happy news for state government employees, as the government of Maharashtra, announced five-day working week today. The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting of the State as per the details.
The decision taken by employees of the state government will take effect from 29 February.
Actually employees working for Maharashtra’s government get off every month on second and fourth Saturdays. This decision was aimed primarily at increasing employee productivity and efficiency, and also at reducing workplace absenteeism.
There are more than 20 lakh officers and workers in the capital, in government, semi-government, and local bodies.

नागपूर. दक्षिण पश्चिम विधानसभा क्षेत्रात येणाऱ्या रामेश्वरी, काशिनगर येथील सम्राट अशोक कॉलोनीमध्ये गेल्या अनेक वर्षांपासून सुरू असलेल्या अनाधिकृत सोमवारी साप्ताहिक बाजार सुरू आहे. अनाधिकृत बाजाराला बंद करून समस्येचे निराकारण करणे, प्रभाग क्रमांक -33 मधील मनपा प्रशासनाच्या मोकळ्या भूखंडावर बगिचा, क्रीडा संकूल, समाजभवन, वाचनालय तयार करण्यात यावे, दर सोमवारला बाजार बंद करण्यासाठी मनपा प्रशासनाद्वारे काशीनगर, द्वारकापुरी, रामेश्वरी रोड परिसरात अतिक्रमण करावाई करावी, तसेच बाजारातील दुकानादारांना दुसऱ्या ठिकाणी जागा उपलब्ध करून त्यांचे पूनवर्सन करावे आदी मागणीचे निवेदन सम्राट अशोक कॉलोनी, काशीनगर रहिवासी कृती समितीच्या मार्फत रहिवासीयांनी महौपार संदीप जोशी यांना दिले. शिष्टमंडळामध्ये अनिता कांबळे, सुनिता मगरे, भूपेंद्र (गोलू) बोरकर, डॉ. मधूकर मून, भीमराव मगरे, भूषण भस्मे, शिरीष जंगले, ज्योती झोडापे, रजनी पाटील, सचिन बोईनवार, सचिन श्रीवास, रोशन शेंडे, सोनू उपासक, रवि रामटेके, अमित उपासक, अर्जुन चव्हाण, राहुल येन्नावार आदिंची उपस्थिती होती. यावेळी नागरिकांनी महापौर जोशी यांना सांगितले की, गेल्या दहा वर्षांपासून काशिनगर येथील सम्राट अशोक कॉलोनी परिसरात दर सोमवारला अनअधिकृत साप्ताहिक बाजार भरत आहे. याबाबत अनेक वर्षांपासून स्थानिक नागरिक महापौर, मनपा आयुक्त, पोलिस आयुक्त, झोनल अधिकारी, आरोग्य अधिकारी, अजनी पोलिस निरीक्षकांना वारंवार निवेदन आणि तक्रार करूनही निराकरण करण्यात आले नाही. या भागात आठवडी बाजाराने केलेल्या अतिक्रमणामुळे येथील जनतेचे आरोग्यासह गुन्हेगारी घटनांमुळे संताप व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे. नागपूर महानगर पालिकेची मोकळी जागा या ठिकाणी बाजार बसविण्याचा घाट या सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्यांकडून होत आहे. परंतु, दाट वस्तीसह रस्त्यांची समस्या असलेल्या या पट्टयात बाजाराऐवजी बगिचा, वाचनालय, क्रीडा संकूल, समाज भवन, खेळाचे मैदान आदि वास्तूंची गरज आहे. त्या मोकळया भूखंडावर मनपाने या सुविधा निर्माण केल्यास तर स्थानिक नागरिकांना दुसऱ्या प्रभागात सुविधा घेण्यास जावे लागणार नाही. तसेच सदर बाजारातील दुकानदारांना दुसऱ्या जागी स्थानांतरीत करून त्यांचे पूनवर्सन करावे, दर सोमवारला बाजार बंद करण्यासाठी मनपा प्रशासनाद्वारे काशीनगर, द्वारकापुरी, रामेश्वरी रोड परिसरात अतिक्रमण करावाई करावी अशी विनंतीही रहिवासीयांनी महापौरांना केली. यावर महापौर संदीप जोशी यांनी रहिवासीयांच्या समस्येला जाणून घेत लवकरच या समस्येचे निराकारण करण्याचे आश्वासन दिले.

But what this whole debacle means is that students don’t get their rightful due. “Rajendra Dayma, chairman of the Independent English Schools Association (IESA), said,” Let them auto-register us because it won’t affect our determination to boycott the method.

HC refuses Gadkari’s appeal for LS election win
Dabrase, who was one of the contestants, had prayed to declare victory null and void for city MP claiming non-compliance with separate legislative provisions.
Gadkari had opposed the petition arguing that no cause of action for finding his election invalid had been revealed. He also pointed out that Dabrase’s appeal to justify his claims that the poll result was adversely influenced was lacking in material facts.
“In the absence of proof of non-compliance by the petitioner under the provisions of the Indian Constitution or the provisions of the People’s Representation Act or any rules/orders set out therein, thus adversely affecting the election result for the respondent, the petition is liable to be summarily dismissed without trial,” held Justice Atul Chandurka
The final vote count didn’t match, according to the petitioner, and there was a significant difference in the grand total, showing 786 more votes than the total votes polled. Contractor accuses SC/ST hostel prisoners of wasting enough food for 50

NIT delaying Futala’s interactive series
Nagpur: Union Transportation Minister Nitin Gadkari had proposed two multimedia shows in the city one on the history of the city at Futala Lake and another on the life of Swami Vivekananda at Ambazari.
While the Ambazari show was cancelled by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) which handed over the garden for development, the executing agency Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) unnecessarily delays the second.
NIT had named Studio One and Khalatkar Constructions consortia to prepare the script for the Futala series. Over a month ago the draft was introduced to NIT officials. The draft was to be given to the members of the steering committee who were to approve it. The leaders, however, have yet to obtain it.
The committee is composed of Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, NIT chairman Sheetal Ugale, BJP corporator Dayashankar Tiwari, former MLC Girish Gandhi and Bhau Salpekar. Tiwari expressed frustration about the delay and requested that NIT convene a meeting immediately and send the script to a committee.
The multimedia show is to last 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes will include a commentary on the more than 300 years of history in the city and the remaining 20 minutes will be pure entertainment. The draft of the script of the history of the city is ready and, if necessary, has to be accepted with changes and corrections to prepare the final script for the consortium. Until the script is ready the project can not go forward.
For the project, NIT has been roping in many prominent personalities. Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman will provide music while the sound engineer is Resul Pookutty, another Academy Award winner. The show has many more notable names to it.
Whereas, work on the spectator gallery that MahaMetro will create is yet to begin. The seating capacity of the gallery will be 4,000 and will be 300 meters long. The cement road work behind the gallery is currently underway. Metro officials committed to completing the work at the gallery by year-end.
The gallery will have a tensile fabric roof that should last for up to 40 years. Beneath the exhibition, Metro will construct 30 shops and 10 ticket counters. The stores will sell primarily food items.
In addition, Metro will construct a multi-level parking area near the building. It will have the capacity to handle 350 two-wheelers and 350 vehicles. This won’t get ready by the end of the year.

क्यूं ना हम एक नई पहल करें , जिससे हम विसर्जन की प्रक्रिया को एक नया तरीका या दिशा दें। जिससे हमारे भगवानों का अपमान भी ना हो और विसर्जन की प्रक्रिया भी अच्छे से सफल होजाए। इस प्रक्रिया के तहत नयी पद्धति से हम विसर्जन कर सकते हैं। हम जल की बजाय मूर्तियों को
भू विसर्जित कर दें। जिससे प्लास्टर ऑफ़ पेरिस या केमिकल से बनी मूर्तियों से नदियाँ भी प्रदूषित नहीं होंगी। और सम्मानीय ढंग से हम उन्हें विसर्जित कर सकेंगे ताकि खुले में रहने से कोई कूड़ा करकट या जानवरो के संपर्क में आकर उनका अपमान न हो।

63% of the sectors in the district are heavily polluting:
Nagpur: Nearly 63% of the Nagpur district industry emits toxic pollutants that are significantly higher than the safe limit, according to the latest data. Also, most coal-fired power plants have earned a five-star rating for being the “least polluting” sector.
The statistics are based on the Star Rating Programme, a first-of-its-kind initiative jointly conducted by the MPCB, the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC-India) and other organizations. In order to provide information on the environmental efficiency of the industries to the public, the program gives star ratings to the industries based on the median concentration of the current particulate matter (PM) stack samples.
According to the standards developed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the permissible limit for PM stack emissions is 150 milligrams per normal metric cube (mg / NM3). Out of the 24 industries being tracked in the district system, 15 failed to meet this level.
The most polluting industries are primarily oil, textile and metalworking industries. Seven sectors have a one-star rating, while two have a two-star rating. One-star means that the particulate matter emitted by these units is 250 mg / NM3 or more, which is almost twice the acceptable norm. A two-star rating indicates that PM emissions are between 150-250 mg / NM3.
People living in the area are at risk of respiratory and cardiovascular morbidity and can also contribute to mortality, according to the programme. “Emissions contain inhalable contaminants that can enter both the windpipe and the lungs,” he says.
Overall, 414 state-wide enterprises are being tracked under the Star Rating Programme. This tracks industrial air pollution in 10 state clusters — Pune, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Nashik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, and Gadchiroli pockets.
Thermal power plants, including Koradi Thermal Power Station (KTPS), Khaperkheda Super Thermal Power Plant, Mouda Super Thermal Power Project, Vidarbha Industries Power Limited and Purti Sakhar Karkhana Limited have received a five-star rating.
Also in September last year, KTPS, Khaperkeda Super Thermal Power Plant and Mouda Super Thermal Power were ranked five-star, while Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station was rated four-star.
Questioning the Board’s results, environmental activists said that no coal-fired power plant can get a 5-star rating. “People living near Koradi and Chandrapur have been complaining for years about massive air pollution. The effects of chemical pollution on public health as well as on crops are clearly visible. The data are not accurate, “they said.
TOI has been reporting frequently on the pollution crisis caused by KTPS. In June last year, the Ministry of the Environment of the Union declined to initiate the process of granting environmental clearance to the proposed two new plant units.
