पुलिस आयुक्त अमितेश कुमार ने सितंबर में कार्यालय में 1096 दिन (तीन वर्ष) पूरे किए और नागपुर आयुक्त के पद पर सबसे लंबे समय तक सेवा देने वाले शीर्ष पुलिस अधिकारी बन गए। सोमवार को अनौपचारिक चर्चा के दौरान सीपी ने कहा कि उनके कार्यकाल में मकोका के तहत 39 कार्रवाई कर 209 अपराधियों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है और 150 अपराधियों को एमपीडीए के तहत जेल भेजा गया है. कुमार ने कहा कि संगठित अपराध दूसरी राजधानी के विभिन्न हिस्सों में सामने आया है. इसके अलावा, कई अपराधी बार-बार अपराध करने वाले थे। ऐसे अपराधों पर नियंत्रण पाने के लिए एमपीडीए और मकोका के तहत कार्रवाई की गई।

वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की तर्ज पर आठ हजार पुलिस कर्मियों की पूर्ण शारीरिक स्वास्थ्य जांच की जा रही है, जो राज्य में पहली बार किया जा रहा है। सीपी ने कहा, कुछ कर्मचारी गंभीर बीमारी से पीड़ित पाए गए। शीर्ष पुलिस अधिकारी ने पिछले साल ऑपरेशन नार्को फ्लशआउट लॉन्च किया था। ऑपरेशन के तहत एनडीपीएस एक्ट के तहत 991 मामले दर्ज किए गए और 1,279 आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया गया. पुलिस ने 29.79 करोड़ की ड्रग्स भी जब्त की है.

पुलिस आयुक्त ने इस बात पर अफसोस जताया कि ट्रैफिक समस्या का समाधान नहीं हो सका। आठ महीने में हत्या के आंकड़े चिंताजनक पिछले साल पुलिस विभाग ने बड़े जोर-शोर से घोषणा की थी कि फरवरी महीने में कोई हत्या नहीं हुई। हालाँकि, इस वर्ष हत्याओं की कुल संख्या में काफी वृद्धि हुई है। पिछले वर्ष 6 हत्याएं दर्ज की गई थीं। इस साल आठ महीने के अंदर ही इनकी संख्या इसके करीब पहुंच गई है. शहर में अपराधियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई तो बढ़ी है, लेकिन अपराध कम नहीं हुए हैं.

नागपूर: नागपूरचे पोलिस प्रमुख अमितेश कुमार यांनी बुधवारी फौजदारी प्रक्रिया संहिता (सीआरपीसी) कलम 144 अन्वये शहरात भीक मागण्याविरोधात आदेश जारी केला.
आदेशामुळे बुधवारी मध्यरात्रीनंतर शहराच्या हद्दीतून भिकाऱ्यांची हकालपट्टी होईल. ३० एप्रिलपर्यंत लागू असणार्‍या अधिसूचनेनुसार, शहराच्या हद्दीत भीक मागणे आता भारतीय दंड संहिता (IPC) च्या कलम 188 अंतर्गत गुन्हा आहे, ज्याची शिक्षा सहा महिन्यांपर्यंत तुरुंगवास आणि 1,000 रुपये दंडाची आहे.
CP म्हणाले की भिकारी वाहनचालक, स्वार, पादचारी यांच्यासाठी उपद्रव बनले आहेत आणि कॅरेजवे आणि जंक्शनवर वाहतुकीस अडथळा निर्माण करतात ज्यामुळे त्यांना कठोर कारवाई करण्याची हमी देण्यात आली होती.
