NMC scans all patients with TB, finds 4 unwell

Nagpur Updates: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) examined 2,246 persons suffering from tuberculosis (TB) to contain deaths and spread of Covid-19 cases from one relation as in Satranjipura case. The first and only death of Covid-19 in City so far, the 68-year-old resident of Satranjipura, was a patient with TB. His 56 members of his family and related associates have so far tested positive.

Municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe and his team including chief medical officer Dr. Yogendra Savai, additional medical officer Dr. Praveen Gantawar and others have already protected 25 lakh of the city’s 30 lakh population under a door-to-door survey of high-risk patients.

Mundhe told that “our team will track patients with TB on a regular basis. If required, we can easily isolate them, as we have their address and phone numbers. The next step is to reach out to all chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) sufferers. Patients with TB and COPD are people at high risk for Covid-19. In the case of Satranjipura we have witnessed the effects, “he said.

Dr. Savai said, “In the last nine days our drive has covered 2,246 patients with TB. The remaining 1,245 TB patients are registered with the government and 1,001 are private registered patients. Our teams reached all of them into their homes and directed them to regularly take medicines to protect them from Covid-19. They found four patients suffering from fever and cough.

We advised them to get immediately handled what they are doing. “Dr. Savai added,” NMC will start driving from Friday to reach out to patients with COPD. In our door-to-door survey of high-risk people, we have found people with COPD. “Dr. Savai also said TB and COPD patients are the ones who will need oxygen in case they get infected with coronavirus, so we leave nothing to chance.

Two more optimistic patients booked for details incorrect

Nagpur Updates: The Shanti Nagar police on Thursday registered an offence against a Satranjipura couple, who tested positive for Covid-19, for hiding their children and giving wrong information to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) medical team. With the latest action, the number of Covid-19 positive patients booked has increased to four in the city.

Assistant Commissioner of NMC Satranjipura Zone Vijay Humne lodged a complaint against the couple on Thursday following directives of municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe. The man (32) and his wife (28) are residents of Kachra Gully, Lal Nagar, Shanti Nagar, have been booked under Section 182 (use lawful power of public servant), Section 187 (intentionally omits to give assistance), Section 188 (disobedience to public servant), Sections 269, 270 (negligent and malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), Section 290 (public nuisance), all under IPC, and Sections 2, 3 and 4 of Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.

In the complaint, Humne stated that the man is the nephew of 68-year-old deceased from Satranjipura, district’s first and only death from Covid-19. “Man and his wife were quarantined and the couple did not disclose it when they were asked by the NMC medical team about details of family members, especially children. The NMC team found out that their boy and girl with a wife’s maternal home in Bhaldarpura had been hidden by the couple.

“The two children were traced and quarantined alongside the parents of the wife and other relatives. One of the two kids tested positive. We could have been more effective in controlling Covid-19 had the couple given the correct information. It has also created panic among the locals, “he said.

A few days ago another of the deceased’s nephews was booked on the same charges. Cap seller from Takia Deewanshah, Mominpura, was booked after getting discharged and giving wrong information in a social media interview for breaking home quarantine standards.

सूत्रों के अनुसार महाराष्ट्र के कैबिनेट मिनिस्टर जितेंद्र अव्हाद की कोरोना रिपोर्ट पॉजिटिव अाई है।दरअसल जितेंद्र अव्हाद एनसीपी के नेता है।बताया जा रहा है के उन्हें थाने के एक निजी हॉस्पिटल में चेकअप के लिए एडमिट किया गया है ।
ऐसा बताया जा रहा है के मिनिस्टर अव्हाद के 14-16 सिक्योरिटी स्टाफ की कोरोना रिपोर्ट पॉजिटिव अाई थीं इसके बाद उन्होंने खुद को क्वारंटाइन कर लिया था। बताया जा रहा है 13 अप्रैल को भी एक कोरोना रिपोर्ट करवाई थी किन्तु उस वक़्त रिपोर्ट नेगेटिव अाई थी ।

नागपुरातील पुन्हा एक रुग्ण कोरोनामुक्त

Nagpur Updates:- कोरोनाच्या महासंकटात नागपूरकरांसाठी आज दोन आशादायी बातम्या आहेत. पहिली म्हणजे नागपूर शहरातील एक कोरोनाबाधीत रुग्ण कोरोनामुक्त होऊन घरी परतला तर आजच्या दिवशी एकही रुग्ण पॉझिटिव्ह आढळला नाही.

आज कोरोनामुक्त होऊन घरी परतलेला रुग्ण एम्प्रेस सिटी येथील रहिवासी आहे. हा व्यक्ती दिल्ली येथे गेला होता. वृंदावन येथून तेलंगाणा एक्स्प्रेसने १७ रोजी नागपूरकरिता निघाला. १८ मार्च रोजी तो नागपुरात पोहोचला. अस्वस्थ वाटत असल्याने त्यांनी रुग्णालय गाठले. २८ मार्च रोजी त्यांच्या स्वॅबचा पहिला चाचणी अहवाल आला. त्यात तो रुग्ण कोरोनाबाधित असल्याचे निष्पन्न झाले होते. त्याच दिवशी त्यांना रुग्णालयात भरती करण्यात आले.

१४ व्या दिवशी म्हणजे १० एप्रिल रोजी त्यांची दुसरी चाचणी करण्यात आली. तिसरी चाचणी १८ एप्रिल रोजी करण्यात आली. या दोन्ही चाचण्या पॉझिटिव्ह होत्या. त्यांच्यावर नियमित उपचार सुरू होते. २१ आणि २२ एप्रिल रोजी पुन्हा त्यांचे स्वॅब घेण्यात आले. ह्या दोन्ही चाचण्या मात्र निगेटिव्ह आल्या. चाचण्या निगेटिव्ह आल्याने त्यांना गुरुवारी (ता. २३) कोरोनामुक्त म्हणून घरी पाठविण्यात आले.

इंदिरा गांधी शासकीय वैद्यकीय महाविद्यालय व रुग्णालयाचे अधिष्ठाता डॉ. अजय केवलिया, वैद्यकीय उपअधीक्षक डॉ. सागर पांडे यांच्या मार्गदर्शनात कोव्हिड-१९ वॉर्डाचे प्रमुख डॉ. राखी जोशी, मेडिसीन विभागाचे प्रमुख डॉ. पराते, डॉ. रवी चव्हाण यांनी त्यांच्यावर उपचार केलेत.

खामला येथील कोरोनाबाधीत रुग्ण ज्या ट्रेनने प्रवास करीत होता त्याच ट्रेनमध्ये हा व्यक्ती होता मात्र अन्य डब्यात होता.
आज हा रुग्ण पूर्णपणे कोरोनामुक्त झाल्यानंतर त्यांना डॉक्टरांच्या चमूने निरोप दिला आणि टाळ्या वाजवून त्यांचे अभिनंदन केले.

Covid-19 vaccine: University of Oxford to begin human trials from today

Nagpur Updates:- Oxford University will begin human research with a Covid-19 vaccine they have developed since Thursday, the UK government said in a press conference about coronavirus.

The Oxford team – led by Professor Sarah Gilbert, is studying ChAdOx1 nCoV-19, a candidate based on a modified chimpanzee adenovirus that contains the spike or ‘S’ protein on the SARS-CoV-2 surface, the virus causing Covid-19.

The government has supported the vaccine project at Oxford University with 20 million pounds and another 22 million pounds to a second vaccine project at Imperial College, London, health secretary Matt Hancock said on Wednesday, adding the initiative would help finance phase 2 trials and help plan for a larger phase 3 test.

Hancock said a vaccine is the “best way” to defeat the virus and bring down the number of cases in the country. He said the UK government is committed to providing financial support to build vaccine production capacity if they prove to be effective in clinical trials.

व्यवस्थापक का यह भी कहना है के बिक्री केंद्र पर पर्याप्त मात्रा में धान ,सोयाबीन,मूंग ,तुर ,उड़द ,मक्का,ज्वार ,बाजरा आदि के बीज उपलब्ध है।नागपुर के साथ भंडारा ,गढ़चिरौली,चंद्रपुर ,गोंदिया और वर्धा में अधिकृत बिक्री केंद्र पर बीज मिल सकेंगे।और साथ ही ग्राहकों से सोशल डिस्टन्सिंग का पूरा ध्यान रखने और नियमों का पालन करने का आवाहन किया है।

नागपूर पोलिसांची कृतिशील संवेदनशीलता, समन्वयकाच्या भूमिकेतून तब्बल 15 लाख लोकांपर्यंत मदत

Nagpur updates:- कोरोनाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर लॉकडाऊनमुळे प्रत्येक नागरिकाच्या घराबाहेर पडण्याला निर्बंध आले आहेत. विनाकारण बाहेर फिरणाऱ्यांना व न ऐकनाऱ्यांविरुध्द कठोर कारवाई करत असतानाच  नागपुरात एकही माणूस उपाशीपोटी झोपणार नाही यासाठी नागपूर पोलिसांची संवेदनशीलता त्यांच्या कृतिशील उपक्रमातून दिसत आहे.  अन्नदान, धान्यवाटप, जीवनावश्यक आदी वस्तूंचे वाटप करणाऱ्या सर्व सामाजिक संघटना एकत्र करुन समन्वयकाच्या भूमिकेतून 15 लाख लोकांपर्यंत मदत वाटप सुरु आहे.

कायदा व सुव्यवस्था राखण्याचे महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका बजावत असतानाच लॉकडाऊनमुळे असंख्य नागरिकांचा रोजगाराचा प्रश्न निर्माण झाला. त्यासोबतच जिल्ह्याची सीमाबंदी केल्यामुळे हजारो मजूर आहे तिथेच अडकून पडले. या पार्श्वभूमीवर शासनाने निवासगृहे सुरु केली. परंतु हातावर पोट असलेल्या नागरिकांपुढे दोन वेळेच्या जेवणाचा प्रश्न निर्माण झाला. सामाजिक जबाबदारी स्वीकारत विविध स्वयंसेवी संस्थांनी मदत सुरु केली. परंतु ही मदत एका विशिष्ट भागापुरतीच मर्यादित राहत असल्यामुळे नागपूरचे अप्पर पोलीस महानिरीक्षक निलेश भरणे यांच्या संकल्पनेतून सामाजिक संस्थांमध्ये समन्वय ठेवण्यासाठी ‘पोलीस वॉर रुम’ तयार करण्यात आली.

पोलीस ‘वॉर रुम’च्या माध्यमातून  सामाजिक संस्थांच्या वितरणावर नियंत्रण ठेवण्यात येत आहे. तसेच शहरातील गरीब व गरजवंत वस्त्यांचे विधानसभा क्षेत्र निहाय वर्गीकरण करण्यात आले. यामध्ये रेड, ऑरेंज व ग्रीन अशी विभागणी करण्यात आली. त्यानुसार शहरातील नोंदणी केलेल्या 132 संस्थांच्या मदतीची  विभागणी करण्यात आली. या संस्थांमार्फत दररोज 95 हजार ते एक लक्ष लोकांपर्यंत शिजविलेल्या अन्नासह विविध साहित्यांचे वाटप होत आहे.

नागपूर पोलिसांचा सायबर सेल हा सामाजिक संस्थांसाठी (एनजीओ) वॉर रुम बनले आहे. त्यासाठी दोन सहायक पोलीस अधिक्षक, सात पोलिस कर्मचारी भुकेल्यांपर्यंत अन्नधान्य व जीवनावश्यक वस्तू पोहचविण्यासाठी अविरत नियंत्रण करत आहे. लॉक डाऊनमुळे शहरातील मजूर आणि कामगार वर्गाचे उपासमार होण्याची भीती वाढली आहे. त्यामुळे नागपूर पोलिसांनी या संपूर्ण मानवी कार्यात समन्वयक बनण्याचे ठरविले. शहरातील स्वयंस्फूर्तीने मदत करणाऱ्या संस्थांची यादी तयार करुन त्यांचे व्हॉटस ॲप ग्रुप तयार केले आणि प्रत्येक संस्थेला विशिष्ट भागाची जबाबदारी देण्यात आली. त्यानुसार भोजन व धान्याची गरज लक्षात घेऊन माहिती संकलित करण्याचे आणि संबंधित संस्थेला ती पोहचविण्याची जबाबदारी नागपूर पोलिसांनी उचलली आहे.

याशिवाय मदत करणाऱ्या संस्थांसाठी 0712-25660214 या हेल्प लाईनवर किंवा नागपूर पोलीसांच्या नियंत्रण कक्षाच्या माध्यमातून नोंदणी करण्यात येत आहे. त्यानुसार त्यांचे पत्ते घेवून त्या भागातील सामाजिक संस्थेला ज्यांच्यापर्यंत मदत पोहचवायची आहे त्या बद्दल कळविण्यात येते. 22 मार्च पासून सुमारे 15 लाख लोकांपर्यंत जेवणाचे पॅकेट्स, अन्नधान्य, मास्क, साबन, सॅनिटायझर पोहचविले आहे. विशेष म्हणजे पोलिस या संपूर्ण मदत कार्याची नोंद ठेवत असून सुरुवातीला 30 हजार ते 40 हजार लोकांपर्यंत पोहचणारी ही मदत एक लाख लोकांपर्यंत गेली आहे. केंद्र शासनाने 3 मे पर्यंत लॉकडाऊन सुरु ठेवले आहे. त्यामुळे नागपूर पोलीस समन्वयकाच्या भूमिकेतून सामाजिक संस्था आणि दानशूर व्यक्ती यांच्या मदतीने समाजातील अत्यंत गरीब व भुकेल्यांपर्यंत मदतीचे कार्य सुरु ठेवणार आहे. राज्यात पहिल्यांदाच पोलीस विभागातर्फे सामाजिक संस्था व मजूर व गरीब जनता यांच्या मधील सेवेच्या समन्वयकाच्या भूमिकेतून काम करत असून अलीकडील काळात ही आजवरची सर्वात मोठी मदत ठरु शकेल आणि कोरोना विरोधातल्या लढ्यात निर्णायकही ठरु शकेल.

आयआरएस तरुणांची प्रतिक्रिया

भारतीय महसूल सेवेच्या अधिकारी व कर्मचारी संघटनेला नागपूर शहरातील गरजू आणि गरीब लोकांकरिता मदत करायची होती. पाच लक्ष रुपये कुणाला द्यावे हा प्रश्न पडला. पाच लक्ष रुपये योग्य त्या व्यक्ती करिता खर्च झाले पाहिजे आणि गरीबातल्या गरीब माणसालाच याचा फायदा व्हावा असा आमचा कटाक्ष होता. काही सदस्यांचे मत होत की सरळ कोविड-19 निधीला पाच लक्ष रुपये द्यावे. परंतु काही तरुण आयआरएस  सदस्य या मताचे होते की आपल्या डोळ्यासमोर जे गरजू दिसतात त्यांना का सरळ मदत करु नये ? परंतु योग्य संस्था किंवा माणूस कसा ओळखावा हा प्रश्न निर्माण झाला तेव्हा पोलीस अपर आयुक्त निलेश भरणे यांच्या मदतीने 11 योग्य स्वयंसेवी संस्था निवडल्या, ज्या भुकेलेल्यांना अन्न देत होत्या किंवा वैद्यकवीरांना साधन सामुग्री वाटप करीत होत्या. यासाठी नागपूर पोलिसांच्या उपक्रमात त्या सहभागी झाल्या होत्या. ‘आपण दिलेल्या मदतीचा मानवतेसाठी सुयोग्य वापर होतोय.’ हा अनुभव खास असतो तो आम्हाला नागपूर पोलीस यांच्यामुळे मिळाला.

Nagpur updates:-As the geographical center of the country with connectivity across all modes of transportation, Nagpur has reported fewer COVID-19 patients compared to other parts of the state.

This has been possible because of the support of the people in the battle against COVID-19 by staying at home and self-quarantining themselves during the lockdown, said Dr. Sanjeev Kumar was interacting with people through Facebook live on Wednesday.

The focus of his live interaction was ‘Measures against Coronavirus Pandemic and Nagpur Division. Replying to a question, he said that if people continued follow-ing the guidelines of lockdown meticulously, it would break the chain of COVID-19 spread. “The key to winning the battle against COVID-19 is in quarantine and isolation,” he said while appealing to the people to extend due co-operation to the authorities concerned.

“The lockdown announced by the Central and State Governments is in the larger interest of the population of the country and Maharashtra,” said the Divisional Commissioner. Though some people might be feeling troubles because of stringent measures, they will have to bear it for the time being to ensure a brighter future, he said.

If people continue with their co-operation extended so far, COVID-19 spread in Nagpur Division can be checked, he added. At the outset of the interaction, the Divisional Commissioner informed the people about the status of COVID-19 outbreak in Nagpur Division, measures being taken by the administration, and preparations for the future.

Barring Nagpur city and Nagpur rural, COVID-19 outbreak was well under control in other districts of Nagpur Division. Still, the administration at the local level was ready with necessary measures. As far as Nagpur is concerned, the administration is regularly taking stock of arrangements at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH).

“Coronavirus positive patients are identified and those in touch with positive patients are immediately quarantined, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar said. Medical officers and healthcare workers are working hard to keep the situation under control. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar welcomed the suggestion that the assistance of social work teachers should be collected.

Nagpur updates:- Happy with law, doctors walk away from protest

Nagpur updates: Doctors and medical professionals attached to the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and its sister organisations have both called off symbolic demonstrations that they were about to witness for their long-awaited demand for a central legislation to ban violence against doctors.

On April 22 IMA had organized a White Warning protest and on April 23 a Black Day protest. The decision to withdraw protests came after the central government cleared the ordinance and declared acts of violence against health-care workers as cognizable, non-bailable offences.

“It’s a good central government decision and it’s very much needed at this stage. Doctors are warriors on the frontline against coronavirus. Unfortunately, in many cases, even in Maharashtra, they face abuse from patients’ relatives,” said Dr. Kush Jhunjhunwala, IMA Nagpur chief.

Going a step further, IMA has now requested the government to require all hospitals to work regularly to ensure that non-Covid patients provide proper healthcare services.

“During this lockout time hospitals and clinics across the country will remain open and operate. Universal steps will be taken, including PPEs, social distancing, hand hygiene, and other marks. There is a need to upgrade non-Covid facilities, “reads IMA national president Dr. Rajan Sharma’s declaration. At present, only emergency and essential services in non-Covid hospitals are allowed.

“We will create a separate category of ‘urgent’ services for cancer operations, organ transplants, etc., apart from the emergency and critical services,” the statement reads on.

The medical association is also opposed to local authorities’ proposals to purchase private hospitals for Covid-19 quarantine centers.

“The custom of quarantining hospitals is an exercise which is self-defeating. Not only are the hospital facilities in question lost to the nation, but the stigmatisation would also leave it dead and forever dead, “the statement says. Instead, several steps have been suggested by the doctors’ association to effectively address the Covid-19 problem.
