Nagpur get three new Police Station.

At Kapil Nagar, Pardi and Wathoda three new police station were inaugurated on Wednesday by the hands of Gordian Minister Chandrashekar Bawankule and State Minister Parinay Fuke. Now with this police station, there is 32 police station in the city. On the occasion Commissioner of police department Dr.Bushan Kumar Upadhyay, Joint Commissioner Ravindra Kadam, Additional Commissioner of Police Shashikant Mahavarkar, DCP zone  5 Nilotpal, DCP zone 4 Nirmala Devi, DCP HQ Vikram Sali, ACP Prashuram Karyakarte, ACP Rajratan Bansod and ACP Vijay Dhopavkar.

By bifurcating the existence Jaripatka, Nadanvan, and Kalmna police station under the  Nagpur City Police Commissionerate The new police stations are created. Kapil Nagar police station will be lead by Senior Police Inspector Prabhakar V Matte. Senior PI Bapu There will lead Wathoda Police Station and while Senior PI Sunil Shivaji Chauhan will look after Pardi Police Station. The city police aim to ensure better policing in these areas located on the outskirts of the city with an additional of three new police station.

Arid land – lush green mini-forest

In a small village near Kalmeshwar about 30km from Nagpur, A lush green patch of bamboo mini-forest bears testimony to the resilience of the plant and also innovative thinking of a young sarpanch. Due to heavy murum presence on the ground, In 2015, this two-acre patch of land was barren but now it is abuzz with life and hosts tall bamboo plantation. Khapri-Ubagi village’s sarpanch Ritesh Pawarkar was a reason for starting all this his role as not only as an administrator but also an environment in his late 30s. Pawarkar said “You can’t grow any crop there, It’s hard rock and has a lot of murum One girl from our village was studying MSc and was connected and was connected with Neeri. Hence, I asked her to see what can be done about this degraded land.” A team from Nagpur visited the village for a spot study due to a meeting between Neeri officials and Pawarkar in 2015. Pawarkar said, ” They took the sample from the ground and analyzed in their lab. The result was that only 10% of it was soil and the rest hard rock Yet, Neeri took up the challenge and chose a two-acre stretch for the experiment,”. Khapri-Ubgai has become an example for other places with degraded land and this project started three years ago. Pawarkar added,” It’s impossible to imagine what kind of place it was before we planted bamboo with Neeri’s help. Nothing would grow here. Even weed managed to stay on the ground only for two months of monsoon after which it was left barren again. But now, it’s green with bamboo shooting off to 50 feet high. There are so many bamboo products that can be made and women self-help groups can be set up to take it forward,”. By setting up a cottage industry for women the young Turk is now planning to take this forward.

Repair Potholes On Top Priority | Nagpur

Abhijit Bangar promptly writing to all agencies to take up work of filling up potholes on top priority. A little prod from Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court pushed the civic machinery in action with Municipal Commissioner. Bangar has written that they need to ensure that roads need to be smoothened to Project Director, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Chairperson, Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT), General Manager, Maha Metro, and Chief Engineer, Public Works Department (PWD).

Reference of letter from Assistant Commissioner, Zone-VIII about the poor condition of roads was given for NHAI, Bangar specifically underlined stretches on Pardi and Sadar where flyover construction is underway by them. High-intensity rains during the season worsened the situation on the ground already the roads were in bad shape. In the letter, Commissioner also mentioned that they need to address the issue of potholes that have formed on national highway stretches passing through the city. Due to ongoing construction of fly-over On Bhandara Road in Pardi area, one can hardly find any semblance of roads. The contract for flyover also had component relating to construction of concrete road but as primary work has slowed down there is no sign about the repairs to road surfaces yet. The fly-over construction is going on since the last few years on Sadar and Katol Road. The movement of heavy vehicles particularly those carrying pre-stressed concrete structures and concrete mixers to the site put extra load on the tar roads that have caved in at various places.

 By contractors, the corresponding repairs to make this roads vehicle worthy was neglected by leaving people to suffer untold miseries on a daily basis. Taking cognisance of newspaper articles and photos mentioned difficult time for road users, Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court rapped civic body for its failure to provide pothole-free roads in the city it was mentioned on Tuesday.

The letters are dated September 17, 2019, means they were drafted post receipt of communication from the office of Government Pleader to NMC, in the evening. Municipal Commissioner underlined the cognisance taken by HC about potholes in city and said former should take quick steps so that information about action taken can be submitted to the court was mentioned In separate letters to each of the agencies. ‘No to single use plastic’

To push people to discard the use of plastic bags Municipal Corporation (NMC) is undertaking an awareness campaign. The campaign will be undertaken till October 27, Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to people to stop the use of single-use plastic bags. The civic body will be implementing the ban on single-use plastic starting with its Central office and extending then to Zonal offices, hospitals and in its schools. Maharashtra Government has already banned single-use plastic, still, she said that one needs to constantly push citizens for reaching the ultimate goal of the plastic-free city, Addressing a press conference on Monday, said Mayor Nanda Jichkar.

With the help of NGOs, NSS and school students to reach every household and make a fervent appeal on avoiding single-use plastic Rallies are planned in each ward. The plastic lying by the roadside would be collected to ensure cleanliness in the area during the rallies. All the public representatives would participate in the rallies and make an appeal to citizens for joining the plastic-free campaign. NMC has increased number of persons in nuisance detection squads (NDS) with the recruitment of 46 more besides previous 41 to enforce a plastic ban. They are not targeting individuals but also targeting units where single-use plastic bags are manufactured said, Civic officials.

Maximum manufacturing facilities are in Gandhibagh and Satranjipura Zone where raids were carried out in May to prevent its sale in the market. The officials informed against a seller in Laxmi Nagar Zone, One FIR was also registered. During 2013-15 besides seizure of the material a fine of Rs. 44,35,300 was collected from the use of plastic. For its effective disposal, the plastic collected would be handed to the third party.  Now many units are engaged in recycling of plastic and making innovative items from them like school bags, thread etc. Fervent appeal to citizens to ensure that this Diwali is free of single-use plastic was made by a mayor.

Vodafone network goes sloppy in Tajbagh Nagpur.

Due to call drops, bogged down by slow mobile internet speed and stymied by poor connectivity issues Vodafone users in Tajbagh vicinity are facing harassment thanks to prolonging network breakdown. The renowned company is yet to resolve the issue, However even reporting the grievance on several occasions, alleged the locals. Some even threatened to give up on the sloppy network While using social media to vent ire. Ashok Sahu, a local narrated his ordeal that how he faced inconvenience owing to the Vodafone network despite living on the third floor of the building in Tajbagh and writing them six times. Sahu also added, “The network and call drop issue in the Tajbagh locality has become common for quite some time now.

We had written six grievances to the officials of Vodafone in the last six months but in vain. Their representatives just paid a visit to our residence and told us that they had found weak indoor coverage. They asserted that the Vodafone has done maximum optimization at nearest cell-site to its maximum capacity to enhance the connectivity at Tajbagh vicinity. However, in the end, they were unable to address the network connectivity issue completely at our location but ensured instead to carry out regular network up-gradation activities in order to optimize the quality of our existing network,”. The 4G signals in the area are always so weak that we have to run our cell phones on 3G and some time in some cases at 2G speed. A team is working on the problem always answers On contacting Vodafone customer care. On hand we have Vodafone who force its customers to use 3G/2G connectivity, says another local. At on other hands, where other networks are competing for neck and neck regarding the launch of 5G network.

Pepsi Co India organised ‘Nagpur Cleanathon’

PepsiCo India today announced the milestone of achieving 100% PET collection and recycling for the State of Maharashtra as part of its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program. They set up 100 collection points across 36 districts of Maharashtra for the effective recycling of used PET bottles while PepsiCo India worked with GEM Enviro Management, a waste management company. The program worked on strengthening the existing informal collection network involving more than 10,000 waste-pickers and ensuring higher income by incentivizing collection efforts.

PepsiCo India and GEM Enviro in presence of senior officials from Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), today organized ‘Nagpur Cleanathon’ at Ambazari lake garden to celebrate this achievement. The cleaning drive is part of an effort to continue the momentum of encouraging all stakeholders to collectively come forward and work towards responsible management of post-consumer plastic waste. Additionally, the drive also witnessed an overwhelming response from 100 volunteers, college students and professors and Mrs Nanda Jichkar, Mayor of Nagpur city, Mr Ram Joshi, Hon’ble Additional Municipal Commissioner, Nagpur Municipal corporation; Hema Deshpande, SRO, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board; Sachin Sharma, Director, GEM Enviro and Juhi Gupta, Head Sustainability, PepsiCo India participated in the ‘Nagpur Cleanathon’ cleaning drive. “So glad to witness such a great response at Nagpur Cleanathon. From electric vehicles to recycling plants, the city of Nagpur is proactively working towards making it clean and green. She further urged all the students to become plastic brand ambassadors and spread the message of reducing, recycling and reinventing plastic wherever they go.” Mrs Nanda Jichkar, Mayor of Nagpur city, said at the occasion.

Banks to remain shut for 4 days.

The several banks across the country will remain closed from September 26 to September 29, affecting regular banking services due to strikes and holidays.

Following the recent government announcement on an amalgamation of 10 public sector banks into four have called for a strike. To protest against the merger these banking unions have threatened to go on a two-day strike between September 26 and September 27. As official holidays September 28 will be the last Saturday of the month and September 29 is a Sunday, and hence banks will be closed on those two days.

Hence banks will be closed for all 4 days. Punjab National Bank, Oriental Bank and United Bank will be merged to become the second-largest PSU Bank in India  Canara Bank and Syndicate Bank will be merged into one entity to be 4th largest PSB, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced on August 30. She also added while Union Bank of India, Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank will be amalgamated into a single entity to be the 5th largest PSB; and Indian Bank and Allahabad Bank will become one entity to be the 7th largest PSB. After the amalgamation, only 12 PSBs will be left in India from the 27 earlier. The Bank of India and Central Bank of India would remain independent said the Finance Minister.

3.51 cr traffic dues in Nagpur.

Orange City’s record of paying up traffic challans even under the old regime are not encouraging as traffic violators of Nagpur owes the City Traffic Department fines of over Rs 3.51 crore. Though the Parliament has passed the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill and notified on the hike in fines for traffic violations beginning September 1. The fine is just between the period of February 8 and September 11, this year.  Traffic Department has already raised exchequer for the state by recovering Rs 4,72,08,351 from 1,74,189 challans. Fine worth Rs 3,51,38,350 is in debt on commuters in terms of pending 74,284 challans. Such figures have clearly put the smart citizens of the smart city in contrast.

The statistics fetched from City Traffic Department revealed that the department had issued total 2,48,473 challans worth Rs 8,23,46,701 across the 10 zones viz, Ajni, Cotton Market, Indora, Kamptee, Lakadganj, MIDC, Sadar, Sakkardara, Sitabuldi, and Sonegoan. Compared to last year, the Traffic Department has issued total 2,25,466 challans (worth Rs 5,98,56,000) i.e. comparatively 62,385 challans (worth Rs 1,02,36,700) more, than that for the exact same period, between January 1 and September 10, 2019.

 Between January 1 and September 10, 2018, the department had issued total 1,63,081 challans (worth Rs 4,96,19300). Traffic Department has urged citizens to install ‘MahaTrafficapp’ to avoid any uncertainty and to derive information about challans. Traffic Department has started calling traffic violators and directed zonal traffic officers to collected fine by paying the violators’ home a visit.

KINETIC GREEN’S E-RICKSHAW TO PROVIDE LAST MILE CONNECTIVITY FOR MAHAMETRO – NAGPUR

For the last mile connectivity to provide a fleet of 20 three-wheeler electric rickshaws, kinetic Green and MahaMetro Nagpur have signed a memorandum of understanding. The e-rickshaw, that is called ‘Kinetic Safar’, can be booked via a smartphone application and can be paid for using digital payment methods. For Khapri, New Airport, Airport South, Airport Jaiprakash Nagar, Sitabardi Subhash Nagar and Lokmanya Nagar Metro Station passengers can avail the services at very low fares for Rs 10.
