NMC digs well constructed roads

The reckless and feckless angle of the civic administration of town has once more mirrored because the NMC has recently administered dig in newly created roads within the city. This strengthens the approach of the NMC towards its voters. The taxes voters pay are used for the development of the roads, and currently, they dig of a similar road. it’s being detected by the voters that the newly developed road ar being mammary gland once more because the municipal corporation has had a lack of interaction with the opposite government agencies. The cement roads and even tar roads that were recently created within the town ar being mammary gland as NMC lost a track to create ducts aboard roads, whereas the development even started. This approval of dig method was permissible by Chief Minister with a provision of few funds of his South West body. Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company restricted (MSEDCL) has begun to dig the roads to place power cables in several areas. This permission was given by NMC itself. throughout this construction, several of the roads and footpaths are being destroyed and a finely build stretch of the many areas has once more become a miserable route to drive on. Areas like Bajaj Nagar, VNIT sq., and Khamla ar majorly littered with such moves of NMC.

The Chairperson of the Transport Committee, Bunty Kukde, told the Central Government. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has approved 100 electric buses. The wheels of these electric buses will be in the town by the end of December.

According to the sources, the civic body will soon sign an agreement with the electric bus manufacturer on a fixed rate per km. In the case of Tejaswini buses, we have the lowest rate in the country, that is Rs. 42.50/km, and in the future, approximately the same equation will remain true, Kukde added.

Ownership of busses would be with NMC while company charges per km for the service of busses in the city. While electric buses come in three sizes, nine-metre,12-metreand18-metre, NMC is interested in small busses keeping the city’s road width in mind. According to the rules, the Center provides 40 per cent of the subsidies for busses, while the cost of 9-metre busses amounts to Rs 1,40 crores, Kukde said.

In addition, the Department is planning to set up another depot at Wathoda, where 10 acres of NMC land is vacant. This would make it possible to better run services to Wathoda, Umred Road and Nandanvan.

Nagpur Municipal Corporation auctions Poonam Mall, doesn’t get any bids.

NAGPUR: The decision of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to hold an online auction of N Kumar Poonam Mall in Wardhaman Nagar did not receive a single bid. The Civic Body had set up an auction centre to recover the property tax of Rs 37 Crore.
The NMC official told TOI that the last bid date would be extended. “This was the first time we had an e-auction, and the price of Rs66 Crore was probably high. The last date to receive bids was October 1, but there was none, “he said.
The centre has been developed and operated by Indo Pacific Infrastructure Private Ltd since 2013. It was in the media in August that part of its roof had collapsed.

As per the standard, NMC auctions assets for the recovery of large or old dues. In the last few years, the civic body has auctioned about 100 houses, 15 of which have been sold.
The NMC also declared its possession of certain assets which could not be sold despite being repeatedly auctioned.
Indo Pacific challenged the NMC auction at the Bombay High Court bench in Nagpur on 1 October. Judges RK during the hearing held on 3 October

Indo Pacific challenged the NMC auction at the Bombay High Court bench in Nagpur on 1 October. At the hearing held on 3 October, Judges RK Deshpande and Vinay Joshi said, “Proceedings for auctions of property that continue. Nonetheless, the auction shall not be completed until further orders have been issued by this court. Notice of final disposition of the matter, refundable on 12 December.

Kumar said that the auction would have received a good response if it had been “genuine land.” “The NMC had levied an incorrect and very high tax to which we had objected. We didn’t have any tenants in the store. Agreements with all occupants were on a business-sharing agreement in which the occupants did not pay rent instead of giving a share of the total sale. NMC began to levy a tenant fee, which was very incorrect. We pay tax on a regular basis, “he said.

NMC began to levy taxes on the mall as per owner occupancy in 2006. The State Auditor General reportedly objected not to levy tax as per tenant occupancy in 2015. The NMC then updated the tenant occupancy tax and increased the requirement for the gap between 2006 and 2013.
Until going to auction, the NMC pursued other properties owned by Indo Pacific to prevent auctioning the Poonam Mall as it was built on land leased by the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT). Yet they didn’t find any.

At the behest of the client and in order to recover its costs, the NIT had also intended to auction the store. But the project was scrapped and a proposal was made to allow the company to convert the mall into a commercial complex-a residential flat-rate scheme. The plan is pending with the government of the state.

According to Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Tony Mahal and Sadar are slum areas.

NAGPUR: Approximately 71 well-to-do localities, including some well-known commercial areas such as Mahal, Sitabuldi and Sadar, continue to be notified to slums. Ironically, 33 non-existent areas such as Sanjay Nagar, Timber Market zopadpatti still appear in the list of notified slums.

The violation came to light during the ongoing process of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to award ownership rights to slum-dwellers.
The NMC has never received a revised list of notified slums from the state government in 48 years. The civic body continued to add more areas to the list of notified slums but did not erase the names of the developed areas. According to the NMC numbers, there are 453 slums in the region.

Apart from Mahal, Sitabuldi, Sadar, other popular tony areas in the list of notified slums are Chhaoni, Mominpura, Bajeria, Hansapuri, Khamla, Gopal Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Bhamti, Dabha, Hazari Pahad, Pandhrabodi, Siraspeth, Manewada, Tulsi Bagh, Somalwa, Sahakar Nagar, Chinchbhuvan, Sakkardara, Bidipeth, Nandanvan, Killa, Baldharpura, Shanti Nagar, Binaki, New Mangalwari, Wathoda, Satranjipura, In BJP City President and Mahal resident Pravin Datke told TOI there is an immediate need to delete the names of developed areas from the list of notified slums.

Congressman Sandip Sahare said it was an “injustice” against the actual slums. “Some areas of the well-developed and economically well-off population have also been recorded as slums. NMC, central and state governments are providing funds to provide basic amenities in the slums. Leaders of the wealthy regions are taking money from the slums to their localities. Some well-to-do areas have therefore stayed on the list of notified regions, “he said.

Another reason is the NMC cannot take an action against unauthorized constructions in notified slums at par with other areas. Leena Buddha, of the NGO Center for Sustainable Development, said that only the removal of names of well-to-do and non-existent localities will reveal the true status of the city at all levels. “I proposed to the NMC that the names of 104 slums should be reviewed and omitted from the register. It gives a wrong and bad picture of the city when there are 453 slums on the index. The revision should also be carried out as soon as all residents in the area receive titles and the community provides all kinds of facilities, “she added.

The NMC official said a proposal would soon be sent to the government to bring about the change. “The NMC has the authority to alert the slum and can not conduct removal,” he said.
For the last few months, the civic body has begun a survey to classify properties, inhabitants and give ownership rights to slum-dwellers on land owned by the state government, NMC, NIT and private individuals.
