Nagpur updates:- In the first, Tipeshwar (149sqkm) and Painganga (425sqkm), wildlife sanctuaries in the Yavatmal district were placed under the administrative control of the Melghat Tiger Reserve (MTR), Amravati.

MS Reddy, additional Chief Forest Conservator (APCCF) & field director of MTR, was asked to take over charge of two sanctuaries with immediate effect. The GR, for this reason, was released on Friday.

Reddy, which already manages over 3,058sqkm of land, which includes 8 wildlife sanctuaries and 1 national park in 3 districts, will now have an additional 574sqkm of jurisdiction. The total area under his rule will be 3,633 km2. Nevertheless, the Isapur Wildlife Sanctuary (121sqkm), which is part of the Pusad Territorial District, has been abandoned.

The reasoning behind the move of the two sanctuaries to Melghat is that these protected areas (PAs) fall under the Amravati revenue division. Until now, the PAs were part of the Nagpur Revenue Division. The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Wildlife Officer, Pandharkawda, used to look after Tipeshwar and Painganga. Now he’s going to report to the Melghat field director.

The field under Melghat will now be similar to what APCCF (wildlife), East Nagpur, HS Hooda, is looking after. It will be like having two parallel APCCFs for wildlife in the Nagpur and Amravati revenue divisions.

Hooda, who has the Tadoba-Andhari, Navegaon-Nagzira, Bor, and Pench tiger reserves and the Umred-Karhandla sanctuary under his jurisdiction, will no longer be in charge of Melghat and the other sanctuaries he has used to manage.
As far as the new GR is concerned, Reddy must immediately report to the PCCF (wildlife) Nitin H Kakodkar, who will be his controlling officer.

Talking to TOI, Kakodkar said, “The new decision is part of the pending proposal sent to the government last year. All Tipeshwar and Painganga sanctuaries were put under the Amravati Revenue Division, which until now had been under the Nagpur Revenue Division. We will also soon hand over control of the Isapur Sanctuary to Melghat.” “The fresh change will help speed up the resettlement of villages in which the revenue department has an important role to play. Both the divisional commissioner and the field director, who will be based in Amravati, will work better, “Kakodkar said.

Till now Tipeshwar and Painganga, 180 km and 300 km respectively from Nagpur were under the control of the field director, Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR), Maharashtra. Earlier, there was also a proposal to add these sanctuaries to the Bor Tiger Reserve by placing them under the new field director, but the idea did not work well with senior officials.

The state move comes at a time when Minister of Forestry Sanjay Rathod, who is a three-time MLA from Digras in Yavatmal, wants to expedite the plan to designate the Tipeshwar Sanctuary as a tiger reserve by expanding it.

Melghat field director Reddy said, “Getting Tipeshwar’s tiger reserve status will be his priority. We will also introduce Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Jan Van’s scheme in the villages around Tipeshwar. Nagpur updates:- With the BJP losing power in the state, several people, including public representatives, are anticipating the announcement of Vidarbha’s statehood with the city as their capital, or special projects for the city from the Union budget. The chances of budgetary arrangements for the implementation of pending projects, including Metro Rail Phase II, Nag-Pili Rivers Pollution Abatement Plan, etc., and the continuation of existing projects, including Swachh Bharat Mission, AMRUT, are high.

नागपुर : पूर्व नागपुर प्रभाग नंबर 4 , धरमनगर, विजयनगर के रहवासी सड़कों और बढ़ती गंदगी को लेकर बहुत परेशान है । समाज सेवी गौरव गुप्ताजी ने नागपुर अपडेट्स को बताया के विगत कई वर्षों से विभाग क्रमांक 4 की जनता गढ्डों भरी सड़कों और विभाग में फैल रही गंदगी से बेहद परेशान है । निगम की कोई गाड़ी कचरा उठाने भी नहीं आती। कई जगह चैम्बर के ढ़क्कन भी नहीं लगे हैं। यहां तक के लोगो को खुले गटर और नालियों के चलते कई तरह की बीमारियां जैसे स्वाइन फ्लू ,बुखार , मलेरिया आदि का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। सड़कों पर इतने गहरे गड्ढे है के किसी भी हादसे में कोई गंभीर रूप से घायल हो सकता है। लेकिन जनसेवक कोई सुध नहीं लेना चाहते।

गौरव गुप्ताजी ने यह भी बताया के साफ सफाई और खुले गटर और ख़राब सड़कों की अनियमितताओं को लेकर वो नगर पालिका लकड़गंज जोन के आयुक्त श्री जयदेव जी को निवेदन भी दे चुके हैं ,लेकिन अभी तक उनके निवेदन के बाबत कोई कार्यवाही नहीं हुई है ।

रहवासियों के मनपा से कुछ सवाल है:-

1. गंदगी और नालियों से को कूड़ा कचरा फैला हुआ है और लोग बीमार हो रहें है उसके लिए कौन जिम्मेदार है ?

2. सड़कों में गड्डे और खुले चैम्बर की वजह से को हादसे होंगे उसके लिए कौन होगा जिम्मेदार?

3. जब प्रशासन द्वारा लोगो से स्मार्ट सिटी टैक्स वसूला जा रहा है तो उन्हें मूलभूत सुविधाओं से क्यों वंचित किया जा रहा है?

Budget carrier IndiGo will start daily non-stop flights to Shirdi from Delhi and Chennai. The flight from Delhi to Shirdi will commence from 5 February 2020 and Indigo will launch daily flights from Chennai to Shirdi with effect from 20 February. The airline provides flight tickets starting at 2,112 on these routes. Last year, with a focus on expanding its network, the low-cost carrier started flights linking Shirdi with Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Indore.

Shirdi Airport, which became operational on 1 October 2017, was designed to handle a total of 300 passengers, including those arriving. Built on an investment of around 350 crores, the airport, with a 2500 m long runway, is capable of handling single narrow-body aircraft, such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.

Shirdi is a very important and famous pilgrimage site in Maharashtra. It is known as the place where Sai Baba lived, preached his teachings, and came to Samadhi.

The SpiceJet airline operates daily flights to Shirdi from Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. In other reports, IndiGo’s consolidated net profit grew by 168% to 496 crores in the three months to 31 December.

According to a study published in the internationally acclaimed journal The Lancet Child and Adolescent Health, pre-school children (aged two to three) who spend more than three hours a day watching screens such as mobile /tablets/television grow up to be less physically active at age 5.5 years.

The study revealed that children from the same age group with less than one hour of screen time per day were more likely to have’ healthier later life behaviors.’

One way that screen viewing can affect health is by replacing time that would otherwise be spent doing something else, such as sleep and physical activity. The latest study is the first to examine the effects of early life screen use on day-to-day activity in pre-school kids.

Associate Professor Falk Müller-Riemenschneider of the National University of Singapore’s Saw Swee Hock of Public Health said, “We tried to evaluate if screen viewing habits at age two to three influenced how children spent their time at age five. We were particularly interested in whether screen watching later in childhood influenced sleep patterns and activity levels.

“Former head of Center Point School (Katol Road) Kana Roy Chaudhuri said parents must show restraint when handing over their mobiles. “Parents who give children mobile phones or feed them while watching TV are a bad practice and developing habits, too,” Chaudhuri said.

Manisha Mahatme, senior lecturer at St Joseph’s Convent Junior College, acknowledged that handing over mobiles has become an easy way out. “I’m rarely seeing kids on the field as parents prefer to keep them at home or send them to the activity class instead of doing something physical. Because of their busy schedule, parents don’t have enough time for their kids, giving mobile in their hands or placing on the TV is easy for parents, which keeps the kids busy, “Mahatme said.

But the problem with excessive screen time goes beyond the mere lack of physical activity, Br feels. On Tuesday Mundhe took over as Municipal Commissioner. He had received 49 complaints on the very first day of’ Janata Darbar’ on Wednesday.

Several people had made a beeline outside the Municipal Commissioner’s chamber at Civil Lines headquarters in Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). Upon hearing the people’s complaints, the new Municipal Commissioner has asked the concerned officials to take the necessary action and give the people redress.

Mundhe chaired various meetings earlier in the day at which he took stock of the working of various departments. He also visited various sections inside NMC’s new Administrative Building and interacted with the officials.

Rashtra Sant Tukadoji (RST) Regional Cancer Hospital, the only charitable cancer hospital in the region with a tertiary cancer care center (TCCC) designation, will be fitted with an advanced linear accelerator system used to provide more precise treatment for patients with cancer.
Linear accelerator tool is used to treat patients suffering from cancer with external beam radiation. This supplies the patient’s tumour with high-energy X-rays or electrons. The unit will cost more than crore from Rs20.

“The system will be of great benefit to poor patients with cancer coming from the Vidarbha periphery to the RST. It will reach RST by 7 February, “said RST director Dr. Subhrajit Dasgupta. Dr.Dasgupta also shared disturbing data from recent figures found in the global tobacco survey of adults.

The hospital will organize a national oration in memory of Pt Shivkaran Sharma Chhangani, one of the founding members of the RST, for the first time since its inception. The oration will take place at 10 am on February 2. Dr. GK Rath, head of AIIMS’ National Cancer Institute, New Delhi, will be speaking on’ India’s cancer control program.

‘ A day-long academic exercise on recent advances in oncology will follow on from this oration. On the occasion, faculties at the national level will talk about radiotherapy, cancer immunotherapy, nanotechnology, ovarian cancer, colorectal cancers, and breast cancer.

The institute arranged an awareness campaign on February 4, and a human chain will be established on the premises of the hospital from 8.30 am onward. It will host an academic function on 9 February along with the Nagpur branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA). Renowned pulmonology, histopathology, and surgical oncology specialists will share the lung cancer updates.

A total of 25 confiscated vehicles were auctioned at a divisional meeting of the Nagpur Excise Department on Wednesday, following instructions from Excise Divisional Joint Commissioner, Mohan Vard.

The vehicles piled up at Nagpur Excise Department, which consisted of 10 auto-rickshaws and 15 two-wheelers, were sold to scrap dealers at Rs 62,000, except those involved in pending court cases. The auction was conducted under the guidance of Exercise Superintendent Pramod Sonone, by Excise Inspector Raosaheb Kore.
