Nagpur is getting its most ambitious sports infrastructure project ever. The Maharashtra government has drawn up a Rs 683.79 crore plan to develop an international-standard sports hub at the Divisional Sports Complex in Mankapur. As a result, Nagpur will have an international-standard indoor arena capable of hosting national and international events.

Olympic-Standard Swimming Pool: Work on the Olympic-standard swimming pool and its supporting infrastructure has already begun. Furthermore, an Olympic pool follows strict FINA specifications — 50 metres long with 8 lanes. Therefore, Nagpur athletes will train in the same conditions used at the Olympic Games.

Sports University: A dedicated sports university is part of the plan. Furthermore, this will provide academic programmes alongside world-class training facilities.
