Nagpur over-subscribed RTE seats by 457%

Nagpur updates: Record-breaking applications for RTE admission in Nagpur with seats available for the academic session 2020-21 were oversubscribed by 457%. The deadline for this session on? expired. The online database of the Education department issued 31,043 requests for 6,785 seats.

The department of education is expected to announce online lottery dates soon after which the admission process will begin. To ensure consistency in the process the RTE admission process is entirely online. The device is run by Pune but the initial installation is performed locally.

The lottery program uses a special logic algorithm that gets its initial starting grid by numbers randomly picked by students at a public event organized by the department of education in Nagpur. Students fill the number grids with chits that are placed in four different bowls.

Students are then summoned to pick up chits one at a time and enter the digit into the grid. Education officials and parents check the number before reaching the grid and there is no disagreement later. When the grid is full it is shown on a widescreen and parents have been asked to click on a screen image, if they need it.

Then officials at Pune will feed these grid numbers into the lottery program and this will decide the fate of applicants.

RTE activist Shahid Sharif said once the results have been published that if parents find any anomalies they will contact authorities. “I’m part of the RTE Verification Committee and if some form of admissions fraud is discovered, parents visit this site a lot. Often admissions are made using false documents, and they need to report these activities, “Sharif said.

The biggest obstacle for RTE admissions will be the boycott of non-payment of RTE dues by several private schools. Independent English Schools Association (IESA) has announced that this session will have more than 20,000 seats left out of RTE’s admission ambit.

City man in GMCH admitted | Nagpur updates

Nagpur updates: After coming into contact with a Telangana patient, a 41-year-old Nagpur resident showed symptoms of the corona virus and was admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC). This was informed here on Thursday by the principal health secretary Pradeep Vyas.

Accompanied by chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, health minister Rajesh Tope, commissioner Praveen Pardeshi of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the secretary said there was no need to wear the mask publicly as the situation is usual in the state.

“But it should be used as precautionary measures by health workers who treat patients and those working at the international airport,” he said, adding that people should use handkerchiefs news by nagpur updates.

He was among 20 people who journeyed from Dubai to Bengaluru and then to Nagpur, according to hospital sources. “Investigations are ongoing,” they stated.

While advising people not to push the panic button, both the CM and Vyas urged them to take precautions to prevent the virus from contracting by avoiding large gatherings. They have commented on the Government’s plans to combat the endemic if it reaches the state.

“Apart from Pune’s NIV, Kasturba Hospital in Mumbai and IGMC in Nagpur were provided with facilities to check the suspected cases. We are also awaiting central government guidelines on tackling the threat of the virus, “they said.

Nagpur updates:- Announcing the 1916 helpline number for the cases of the corona virus in Mumbai, Pardesi said it screened the more than 70,000 people arriving from abroad to India. “Ninety offenders have been reported but 83 accounts are negative. On the domestic trains and bus terminals, as on date, there will be no screening,’ he said.

Tope added that the virus would only affect if the person were going very close to the patient, or if he/she was making a handshake with him/her. “It is not an airborne disease and therefore, patients must be held at a minimum of three meters.

You should stop even handshakes. Touching the body parts with hands such as neck, ears, nose, and mouth should be avoided as viruses can enter the body through them. Frequent handwashing is a must-have, not just with the sanitizer.

Thanks to International Women’s Day, SECR’s women’s staff took over the Vidarbha Express wheels from Nagpur to Gondia making it a memorable day for the female employees. Passengers have been seen appreciating the project as they have come to know that it will be an all-women’s train handling squad.

We have risen above society’s stereotypical mentality. Today our women’s workers will celebrate Women’s Day by taking overexpress charge, “Bandopadhyay said.

Meanwhile, all-female staff operated Itwari railway station on Sunday, too.
Ashlesha Patil, the chief supervisor of the reservation at Itwari railway station, expressed her happiness saying, “It is very overwhelming that we are getting recognition for our work. Initiatives like that need to happen more frequently, “she said.

Gautam said, “We’re still watchful of our jobs. Anyone in need of assistance should call 183 and we’re going to be there to help them. Our job is to worship ourselves and we are pleased to celebrate the day by doing the same thing,” she said.

Soon, inside the train the driver, pilot, and assigned officers took up their positions and a green flag was shown. “What is a better way for the railways to celebrate Women’s Day than giving us an opportunity to enjoy our work and feel proud of it,” SD Solomon, CTI said.

Maharashtra cuts stamp duties on Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur land

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said the stamp duty concession would help promote the real estate sector in the aftermath of slowdown The MVA government announced some tax concession proposals in its maiden budget.

This included a 1% stamp duty waiver for the next two years and other related fees for the registration of documents in the areas covered by the Metropolitan Development Authority of Mumbai (MMRDA) and Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Nagpur municipal corporations.

Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, who also holds the finance portfolio, said the stamp duty waiver would help to promote the real estate sector in the aftermath of a slowdown.

He also declared sops for farmers, suggested increasing VAT on petrol and diesel by Re 1 per litre, and reduced industrial electricity duty. Ajit Pawar projected a budget revenue deficit of about 9,511 crore and suggested the scale of the assembly’s 2020-21 annual plan at 1,15,000 crore.

The projections of the budget put the fiscal deficit at approximately 54618.38 crore. He suggested raising the industrial-use electricity obligation from 9. 3 to 7.5% of purchase fees. Reducing the electricity duty would help foster state-run industries, the finance minister said. Due to tax concessions, annual revenue losses of around 2,500 crore are expected.

Similarly, Pawar suggested an improvement in VAT on petrol and dieselby Re 1 per litre. This, the finance minister told the assembly, would enrich the state exchequer with an additional 1,800 crore.

Beginning April 1, 2015, to March 31, 2019, he proposed a one-time compensation scheme for farmers whose crop loan is more than ~2 lakh, including principle and interest. The government will move some 2 lakh to qualify farmer’s bank accounts after the outstanding amount above some 2 lakh, as repaid by them on September 30, 2019, Pawar said.

Likewise, farmers who will regularly repay their duties until June 30th, 2020 and for crop loans taken from them during 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20, will earn up to a maximum of 50,000 as incentives for the amount of crop loans taken during 2018-19, the Finance Minister said.

He said the government has set a target of feeding a lakh people through its meal scheme’ Shiv Bhojan.’ The finance minister approved for the subsidized food program for the poor an allocation of about 150 crore. Pawar said the budget proposals concentrate on tackling the economic slowdown and job creation challenges.

He said the government is setting up a dedicated fund, called the “Green Fund,” to be used for environmental conservation. The money from this special fund will be used exclusively for sewage disposal and waste management programs, the finance minister said.

Pawar said the tax revenue is estimated to be around 2,16,824 crore as per the revised estimates for the year 2019-20. In 2019-20, he said, it was expected to receive budget revenue from somewhere around € 3,14,640 crore.

However, due to a decrease in receipt by some 8,543 crore of state share in central taxes, revenue receipts have been revised to about 3,09,000 crores, he said. In the 2020-21 budget the tax receipt is projected at 3.47.457 crore and revenue expenditure is estimated at 3.56.968 crore.

“This suggests a tax shortfall of around 9,511 crore,” he said. Pawar said the gross outstanding debt and liabilities amounted to around 4,33,00,901 crore at the end of January 2020.

The state has received loans of some 2,82,448 crore over the past five years, he said. The cost of government-led infrastructure projects is ~2,78,271 crore, and the state will bear direct and indirect responsibility for these projects, Pawar said.

Excise Deptt cracks at wine shops in Nagpur that sell liquor at the doorstep

Nagpur updates: Wine shops in Nagpur have been found to supply liquor at customers ‘ doorsteps to earn extra money in yet another shocking revelation. The State Excise Department behaved aggressively when criminal activity was revealed and penalized the perpetrators. A number of culpable wine shops faced stern actions by Excise officials, Excise Superintendent Pramod Sonone told Nagpur updates.

“Such a situation we have experienced for quite some time now. After proof, the Excise officials started cracking whips at the wine shops for the unauthorized distribution of liquor at the doorsteps. We’ve also revoked licenses from a number of liquor shops for violating Excise regulations, “the Excise Superintendent said.

According to the Nagpur City State Excise Department’s Excise Superintendent, people who drink and sell liquor need to abide by Maharashtra Excise Department norms. He told Nagpur Today that the action of the department was entirely based on the complaints or inputs received and clarified that the “Excise Department does not harass people excessively for consuming alcohol in the comfort of their homes.

“Under the condition of anonymity, a source from the local wine shop revealed to Nagpur Today that, if a customer is known to us (mostly) and promises us more money, we will be able to do so. Earlier Nagpur Today also revealed the nasty trick of online food delivery boys who were also found supplying their customers with liquor and cigarettes to earn extra bucks.

It is relevant to mention that, back in 2018, former State Excise Minister Chandrashekar Bawankule mooted the concept of online delivery of liquor at doorsteps.

But following a series of demonstrations and complaints, the move was quickly scrapped. It seems, though, the city-based wine shops have started capitalizing on the idea of receiving moolah from the former excise minister.
