The Shri Mahalaxmi Jagdamba Sansthan at Koradi in Nagpur is fully geared up for Ashwin Navratri 2026. The Koradi Temple Navratri 2026 Nagpur celebration will run from October 11 to October 20. Around 25 lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple during the ten-day festival. Pilgrims from across Vidarbha, Maharashtra, and neighbouring states will gather to seek the blessings of Maa Mahalaxmi Jagdamba at one of the most revered shrines in central India.
When Is Navratri 2026 at Koradi Temple?
Ashwin Navratri 2026 at Koradi Mahalaxmi Jagdamba Temple will be observed from October 11 to October 20, 2026. The festival spans ten days and draws the largest annual footfall at the temple.
Special Swayambhu darshan will be held on the first day, October 11, from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This is a rare and sacred opportunity for devotees to have an unobstructed view of the self-manifested idol of Maa Mahalaxmi Jagdamba. A very large number of devotees are expected to attend this special morning darshan on the opening day itself.
What Is the Akhand Jyot Tradition at Koradi?
One of the most distinctive features of Navratri at Koradi is the lighting of Akhand Manokami Jyotiyan. The Sansthan will light approximately 7,000 Akhand Jyot during the festival this year. Devotees offer these eternal flames at the feet of Maa Mahalaxmi as an expression of their wishes and prayers. The Sansthan has made special arrangements for the uninterrupted burning of all 7,000 lamps throughout the ten-day festival. The entire temple complex will be bathed in a deeply spiritual atmosphere during this period.
What Security Arrangements Are in Place?
Given the expected footfall of 25 lakh devotees over ten days, the Koradi Sansthan administration has coordinated extensively with Nagpur Police and district authorities to put in place a comprehensive security plan. Dedicated queuing systems will be set up for orderly darshan at all times of the day.
Special attention will be given to entry and exit routes to prevent crowding at single points. Traffic management will be handled by police personnel deployed at key junctions on the roads leading to the temple. Crowd management measures have been planned specifically for high-footfall periods such as early mornings and evenings.
What Time Is Best to Visit Koradi Temple During Navratri?
The temple management has made a specific appeal to devotees. The Shri Mahalaxmi Jagdamba Sansthan has requested that pilgrims visit during afternoon hours wherever possible. Morning and evening darshan slots see the heaviest rush throughout Navratri. Afternoon visits between approximately 12 PM and 4 PM tend to have comparatively lighter crowds. Visiting during these hours will ensure a more comfortable and hassle-free darshan experience.
Devotees have been urged to maintain patience and discipline throughout their visit and to cooperate fully with the security and administrative arrangements put in place for their safety.
Will Koradi Naka Flyover Affect Traffic This Navratri?
Pilgrims travelling to Koradi should be aware of a traffic-related concern this year. The Koradi Naka flyover on the road leading to the temple remains under construction and is not yet fully open. This is expected to add pressure on the roads approaching the temple, particularly during peak hours on weekends and on the first and last days of Navratri. Devotees are advised to plan their travel time accordingly and follow traffic police instructions near the Koradi Naka stretch.
Rs 12 Crore Development Work at Koradi Temple
The Koradi Mahalaxmi Jagdamba Sansthan has received Rs 12 crore in sanctioned funds for development of high-tech facilities for devotees. These improvements are aimed at enhancing the overall darshan experience, improving waiting areas, and upgrading infrastructure within the temple complex.
Additionally, the Maharashtra Cabinet has approved a lease of government land to the Sansthan for 30 years at a nominal rate of Re 1 per year. This decision will enable long-term development of the temple precinct and create better facilities for the millions of devotees who visit every year.
How to Reach Koradi Mahalaxmi Temple from Nagpur?
Koradi is located approximately 15 kilometres from the centre of Nagpur city on the Nagpur-Amravati Highway. The temple is easily accessible by auto-rickshaw, private vehicle, and city buses from various parts of Nagpur. During Navratri, additional bus services are typically operated by the Nagpur Municipal Transport Department to manage the increased demand from pilgrims.
Devotees travelling from outside Nagpur can reach the city by rail or road and then proceed to Koradi from the city centre.
